Nowgong Law College is a popular law institution in Assam, Nagaon, being among the top institutions for law education in the state. Admission processes are usually initiated after the announcement of 10+2 results for undergraduate programs and after graduation results for master's programs.
Nowgong Law College has been recognized by Gauhati University and the Bar Council of India, which ensures that the quality of education imparted complies with that required of the profession.
Application Process
The application process consists of the following steps:
Admissions Announcement: The college announces the public opening of the admission process.
Acquisition of Applications: The application forms will be available to the respective candidates. It will either be an online form or can be obtained from the college office.
Document Submission: Applicants should submit along with the completed application form the following documents:
Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10+2 for BA LLB, Graduation certificates for LLB)
Character certificate from the last attended institution
Migration certificate (if applicable)
Caste certificate (for reserved category students)
Recent passport-size photographs
Application Fee: The application fee is also to be paid by candidates. The mode of payment and the amount of value should be confirmed from the college.
Entrance Test: A written entrance test carried out by the college will form part of the selection procedure for the students shortlisted.
Interview: Candidates qualifying the written test are called for personal interviews.
Merit List: The merit list will be based on the entrance test and interview performance.
Admission: Selected candidates shall have to fulfill the required admission formalities, like the payment of fees and verification of documents, within the stipulated period.
Degree-wise Admission Process
BA LLB:
Integrated 5-year course. Maximum intake: 60 students. Eligibility: 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category). It is based on a system of written tests and interviews.
LLB:
A three-year program. Maximum intake: 60 students. Eligibility: Graduate with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category). Admission based on written tests and interviews.
LLB Hons:
Three-Year Program. Eligibility: 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks (42% for reserved category). Admission on the basis of written tests and interviews.
BA LLB Hons:
Integrated Program. Admission on the basis of written tests and interviews. Eligibility criteria and process similar to BA LLB.
B.Com LLB and B.Com LLB Hons:
Combined commerce and law. Admission on the basis of same eligibility criteria as in other LLB programs. Admission consists of written tests and interviews.
