The two-year Master’s Degree Program in Urban Infrastructure (MUI) prepares young professionals for career in one or many of these: (i) preparing infrastructure projects for the cities and their regions, (ii) undertaking research on policies and processes of urbanization and urban infrastructure development, (iii)advising on governance of infrastructure projects and facilities in cities and their regions, and (iv) preparing projects and overseeing their execution in the areas of urban infrastructure in India as well as other developing countries. It also exposes the students to environmental, social, political, economic and financial dimensions of urban infrastructure development and ethical dimensions of working as professional.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the M.Plan. program in the general category shall have a minimum of 55 % aggregate marks and those in the reserved categories shall have a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in qualifying degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University / Institution.

Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Architecture, Civil Engineering/Technology, Environmental Engineering, Construction Technology, Planning, Urban Design.

Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering/Technology, Environmental Engineering, Science/Technology in Geomatics/Geoinformatics/Geographical Information System, Geography, Economics, Sociology or Social work, Environmental Science.

Admission Details

The applications received within the prescribed time limit will be evaluated in five stages as mentioned below:

Stage 1 - Scrutiny for Eligibility:

The applications will be scrutinized based on information provided/uploaded by candidate in the application forms. This scrutiny is to check whether the applicant meets eligibility criteria mentioned above [section 2(C)] for the program for which application is submitted. Only those applicants who meet the eligibility criteria of at least one of the programs will be considered for stage 2.

Stage 2 - Short-listing for Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI):

This stage of shortlisting of applicants is for Stage - 3 (Group Discussion and Personal Interview). The shortlisting will be based on a merit list prepared using the following criteria of academic performance in the qualifying degree and work experience:
