Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI), Agra was established in 1975. In 1981, Dayalbagh Educational Institute was declared a deemed university by the government of India under the UGC Act, 1956. The campus is spread over 86 acres of land. DEI Agra is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade A. The institute is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The mission and vision of the institute are to provide quality education and nurture students into professionals to serve society and the nation. The institute offers both full-time and part-time courses. DEI Agra courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).  In the NIRF 2021 Ranking, the institute has been ranked 126 in the engineering category and 94th in the university category. 

DEI offers courses in the fields of Engineering, Management, Arts, Commerce, Science, Education, Architecture, etc. Students aspiring to take admission in DEI can check their eligibility criteria and apply for admission. The admission process involves online WOT and online interviews. For the B.Tech programme, students should have a valid JEE Main score and qualifying marks in NATA for the B.Arch programme, instead of appearing for online WOT. For M.B.A programme admission, students have to appear for a group discussion also. The student-faculty ratio in the institute is 45:1.

• NSS- National Service Scheme at DEI helps develop the overall personality of the students. Student volunteers participate in various community services like social reforms, blood donation camps, literacy programmes, relief work, environmental protection, etc.

• EVIC- Entrepreneurship Virtual Incubation Cell at DEI nurtures social entrepreneurs by encouraging creative thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset. The cell promotes low-cost solutions in the domains of education, health, waste management, etc.

DEI Agra Facilities

The college has ample facilities like a library, IT infrastructure, laboratories, auditorium, sports, hostels, hospital, etc. DEI library has well-stocked books, magazines, newspapers, national and international journals. Online resources like INFLIBNET and e-journals are also available in the library.  KIOSK OPAC software has been installed to look after all the administrative work of the library. DEI library is equipped with computers with an internet facility. The institute provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. All-time vegetarian meals are served to the hostel students. There are hostel wardens each in boys and girls hostels.

The departmental laboratories of the college are equipped with the latest instruments to help students gain practical knowledge. Hygiene and cleanliness are strictly followed in the college laboratory. All the offices, departments, library, and hostels are connected with high-speed internet. Computers are connected with local area networks through optical fibers. The college IT infrastructure supports online learning and others among the students. The college IT infrastructure is of great help for the students pursuing computer-related courses. The institute provides both indoor and outdoor games facilities. The college provides large and separate playgrounds for outdoor games like volleyball, cricket, basketball,. The various indoor games available in the college are chess, carrom, badminton, etc.

The Multimedia laboratory of the college has facilities like cameras, projection systems to facilitate video making and editing for students of distance education programmes. Through multimedia laboratory, lectures can be delivered in both India and abroad. The college auditorium is huge and is spread over an area of 250 square metres. Saran Ashram Hospital, Dayalbagh provides free medical treatment to the students and staff members. Other facilities like X-Ray, ECG, diathermy, and pathological testing are available on a chargeable basis. The college cafeteria provides hygienically prepared vegetarian food. There are also convenience stores like a book shop, photocopy, etc in the college.

DEI Agra Courses

The Institute offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, postgraduate, M.Phil, Ph.D, certificate, and part-time courses. Further, each course has different streams. DEI courses are approved by AICTE. The duration of the courses varies from 1 year to 5 years. The courses are divided into semesters and the duration of each semester is six months. Candidates aspiring to take admission at DEI, in any of the courses, have to meet the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for different courses are given in the table below. Dayalbagh Educational Institute Agra Admissions

DEI Agra offers admission to diploma,  undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, postgraduate, M.Phil, Ph.D., certificate and part time programmes. These programmes are offered to those students who meet the eligibility criteria and get selected in the merit list released by the college. The merit list involves scores of academic merit, online Written Objective Test (WOT) and online interview. For B.Tech admission, students have to appear for JEE Main and for B.Arch programme, students have to qualify the NATA exam, instead of WOT. Students are selected for M.B.A admission on the basis of merit score of online WOT, group discussion and online interview.

• Next, selection of the candidates will be on the basis of merit (5% of marks scored in class 10+ 60% of marks scored in PCM in class 12+15% of marks scored in JEE Main+20% of online interview).

• Meet the eligibility criteria and qualify the NATA entrance test.

• Submit the duly filled college online application form.

• Next, candidates have to appear for a Drawing Test.

Dayalbagh Educational Institute Agra Scholarships

At Dayalbagh Educational Institute Agra, students can avail scholarships like central government scholarships and scholarships provided by UGC/AICTE. Students can apply for the scholarship only when they meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the central government and UGC/AICTE. After meeting the eligibility criteria, students  are eligible to receive the scholarship amount. The various scholarships students can avail at DEI are:

1. PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child- Under this scheme, girl students upto the age of 30 years can avail the scholarship. The student should be pursuing a full time 1st year PG programme. The amount of the scholarship is Rs 36,200 per annum.

2. PG Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST Students for pursuing Professional Courses- This scholarship is awarded to those students who are pursuing professional courses from the institution/college/university recognised by the UGC or funded by central or state government. The amount of the scholarship under the scheme is Rs 7800 per month (for ME/MTech) and Rs 4500 per month (for other professional courses).

3. Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students (Technical Degree)- Girl students pursuing first year of degree level course and having an annual family income upto Rs 8 lakhs are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship amount awarded under this scheme is Rs Rs 50,000 per annum

Dayalbagh Educational Institute has a placement cell in its campus. Training and placement officers of each department represent the DEI placement cell. The placement cell conducts various activities like guest lectures, workshops, soft-skills training and many more.
