Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
I would say IET lucknow is heaven for two types of students. 1. For those who came here for time pass since there is no strict rules for classes , projects , summer training etc. 2. For those who wants to crack Gate , Ies ,Psus and other exams because of presence of many good coachings like Made Easy. It is also easy to prepare for such exams because in this institute no such hard and fast rules for class attendance and internals. Apart from this , this college severely lacks in good dedicated faculty, creative engineering, placement in core companies , study environment , infrastructure etc. Placements: Placement records have been very poor for the last 5 years. Mostly CS students get placed, although the packages they receive are pathetic. Students: IET receives some of the best students of the state who just missed in getting into IITs and NITs. IET students have produced very good results in GATE 2016 including rank 1 from EI. Hostels: 1st year hostel is new and shining. It is one of the best hostels in UP. 2nd year hostel is pathetic. Other hostels are okay but they need maintainance. Fests: IET LKO hosts its annual cultural fest ENCORE and its annual sports fest SHAURYOTSAV every year. Both of them are okay. This year we started an annual technical fest too named PARAKRAM, though we did not get any funds and support from college. Internet connectivity: 1st and 2nd year hostels have wifi connectivity only and no LAN. The internet sucks here and it most probably works for 6 months out of 12. 3rd and 4th year hostels and the girls hostel too has LAN connectivity. Speeds on LAN are very good ranging from 1-10 Mbps. Academics: IET LKO has some very good faculty. Guest faculties you get in 1st year are terrible. However some permanent faculties are good. Administration is poor. We had to fill our college enrolment forms at least 6 times lol. IET receives good funds from the state to improve its infrastructure but like every other "government" field 95% of that money gets lost somewhere in between. Over all, I must say that this college has one of the brightest brains of UP and may be you would not see immediate success of many the people here but in a long run, the IETians have proved themselves.
