    NIELIT Eligibility Criteria: General Points

    • There is no strict age limit for NIELIT certification exams in most cases.

    • Candidates can register once and then attempt exams in up to 10 consecutive exam cycles for a given level. If they don’t clear within that time, candidates are allowed to re-register once more for an extended period, that is, 5 additional years for A-Level.

    • NIELIT Exam fees vary by level and module, and NIELIT publishes a fee charter specifying registration charges, exam application processing fees, re-registration fees, and module-wise exam fees.

    • Training institutes offering NIELIT-accredited courses must meet certain infrastructure standards (computer systems, networking equipment, laboratory facilities) to enable practical exams and hands-on training.

For 2026, NIELIT exams will follow the bi-annual cycle (January and July), with both theory and practical/project components. If you are planning to register, the most important thing is to understand the eligibility criteria for each level.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Are NIELIT certificates useful for government jobs?

    A:

NIELIT registration validity varies according to the level of course. For NIELIT O Level: 5 years, A-Level: 7 years, B-Level: 9 years, and C-Level: 10 years. Students must clear all required modules within this validity period.

Q: Can I apply directly for NIELIT A-Level without doing O-Level?
