About Berhampur University
The Berhampur University came into existence in the year 1967, inaugurated by Dr A.N. Khosla, the then Governor of Orissa and the first chancellor of the university. Clubs, Committees and Societies
The university has set up various committees in charge of certain positions that deals with the responsibility of keeping the university environment a safe and reliable one for student’s and staff. They are given below.
Anti-Ragging Committee: This committee holds the responsibility to eradicate ragging among students or staff in the university. The anti-ragging cell aims to maintain peaceful coexistence among students.
Cell Against Sexual Harassment: The committees of this cell help to prevent any kind of sexual harassment in the university and specially to safeguard women in the university from any kind of violent or sexual abuse.

Facilities
Berhampur University provides a well-equipped infrastructure to students and staff. Admission
The university offers admissions to various UG and PG courses through merit or entrance tests. For MBA, MCA, and ME/MTech admissions, OJEE entrance exam is required, admissions to all other PG courses including MSc, MSW, MA, M. Com, M. Pharma, MCA, are done through CPET, and admissions to all UG courses are done on the basis of candidate’s merit of previous course degree.
Scholarship
Students in Berhampur University receive various scholarship from agencies. However, most of the students apply for scholarships provided by the state and central government. Scholarships are provided based on the category students belong to and to high performers on the basis of merit cum means scholarship. Placement is undertaken in the career and placement assistance cell in the university. Berhampur University is based in Berhampur, Odisha, India. It is a state-based public university and was established in 1967. It is approved by the UGC and is also accredited with an A grade by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). The university offers a variety of courses on postgraduate levels. These courses range in three departments namely humanities, science, and business studies. It also offers 28 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in distance learning mode for the ease of students. This is done through the Harihar Mardaraj Distance Education Centre. It also includes many regular programmes and diploma courses.
Berhampur University Placements
Step 1: The university has a placement cell that coordinates with the firms to know about the companies that want to visit the campus for on-campus placements. They get the information from the companies about the recruitments that they wish to make.
Step 2: Then the placement cell reverts back that information to the students. Then they prepare the students with it through pre placement talks and mock interviews. In this manner, the students are ready to face the actual situation.
Step 3: The students then submit their resumes and verify their documents. Then they sit for the written tests which are based on their aptitudes and technical knowledge about the subjects.
Step 4: Then, the students who pass the written test go-ahead for the group discussions. The people who pass the group discussions are further called in for the personal interview.
Step 5: On clearance of the interview, the students are provided with an offer letter. They are given the proposal and offered their tentative salaries.
