The two-year MA Education Programme involves rigorous engagement with educational theory, practices, and policies. It comprises of compulsory core courses, and baskets of elective courses, which offer a possibility for specialization in various domains related to education.
SES is envisioned to evolve as a community of professionals and scholars endeavoring to understand education in its historical and contemporary contexts through engaged scholarship and practice. The School aims to bridge the gap between the theory and practice of education in its multiple locations-in that, it attempts to foster greater convergence between the study of education as a social phenomenon and the preparation of professional educators and social activists.

Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must have passed the Bachelors/ Masters degree with minimum 45% marks (relaxation of 5% of marks for SC/ST/PwD) or an equivalent grade in any discipline.
Desirable: Minimum of one year's work experience in the field of education.
Admission Details
Admission is based on an Entrance Test and Interview. The test will comprise questions based on general awareness related to education and questions based on readings, which will be uploaded on the AUD website in the first week of June. Candidates are expected to access and read these prior to the test. Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to comprehend, apply and articulate their understanding of the readings. The test will also include a question on candidates' motivation for pursuing the program. The readings and test will be in English.
