      College Infrastructure

One of the indias renowned university with a classical infrastructure. Having AC, Fans, RO+ water, Water cooler and lifts with wifi facilities. Also have advance tech labs. Buildings are strong with new paints. A good library also available.

      Academics

Syllabus align with modern tech jobs. Professors are highly educated with mentorship and have moderate attendance criteria but don't provide internship. They complete syllabus and take examination on time. Give projects. Department should provide internship to every student.

      Placements

Most of the students get campus placement in Computer science and Electrical. Placement cell is active but should work much better as expectations. According to collage rank, Placement cell should attract more Companies to provide placement to other department student.

      College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of my college is excellent. Compared to other universities in the same category, I believe it has one of the best campuses and facilities. The college provides all the necessary infrastructure required for students. The library is well-equipped with a wide range of books, study materials, and other resources. Hostel facilities are also available. However, getting a hostel room can be quite competitive, especially for students coming from other states. Hostel allotment is based on several factors such as the distance of the student's residence from the university, academic performance in graduation, and other evaluation criteria. Students are given scores based on these parameters, and hostel seats are allotted accordingly. The classrooms in the management department are spacious, well-ventilated, and maintained properly. Many classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, which provides a comfortable learning environment. However, the college does not have smart boards in most classrooms. Traditional whiteboards and teaching methods are still commonly used. Overall, the facilities are regularly used by students and are generally well-maintained.

      Academics

The academic curriculum provides a good foundation in the subject, but in my opinion, it is somewhat outdated and does not fully align with current industry requirements. However, this is not unique to my university, as many institutions follow a similar curriculum structure. While the syllabus helps students develop basic theoretical knowledge, there is a gap between what is taught in the classroom and the skills required in the professional world. I believe the university could do more to bridge this gap by providing greater career guidance, industry exposure, and information about relevant certifications and skill-development opportunities. For example, as an MBA student, I feel that students would benefit from more guidance regarding different career paths such as operations, finance, marketing, or human resources. Faculty members could play a more active role in informing students about industry-recognized certifications, emerging career opportunities, and the skills required to succeed in specific domains. Overall, the faculty members cover the prescribed syllabus effectively, but there is room for improvement in terms of career mentorship and practical industry preparation. Greater emphasis on employability skills and industry-oriented learning would help students become better prepared for the real world.

      Placements

I do not have sufficient knowledge about the placement scenario in other departments, but I can share my experience with the MBA department. The placement opportunities are decent, and the program offers a strong return on investment considering the relatively low fee structure. Several well-known companies visit the campus for recruitment, and some organizations offer attractive salary packages, which motivates many students to join the program. The median package in recent years has been around ₹8–9 LPA, which is quite good when compared to the fees charged by the university. However, not every student gets placed through campus recruitment. As a central university, there appears to be less emphasis on attracting a larger number of recruiters compared to some private institutions. I believe the university has significant potential to improve in this area. Being located in the capital city of India, it can leverage its location and industry connections to bring more companies to campus and create additional opportunities for students. At the same time, students should understand that placements are a shared responsibility. The placement cell provides opportunities, but securing a job ultimately depends on an individual's skills, preparation, and efforts. Students who actively work on their communication skills, technical knowledge, certifications, internships, and overall employability are more likely to succeed. Overall, the MBA department offers reasonable placement opportunities and excellent return on investment, but there is scope for improvement in terms of recruiter outreach and the number of companies visiting the campus.

      My experience in college

      College Infrastructure

The infrastructure for B.Voc Food Production at JMI is good, as we know the vocational course are heavily dependent on practical knowledge that is why the institute has well-equipped kitchens, practical labs, and clean facilities that provide a comfortable learning environment.

      Academics

The academics courses are also very well structured, combining and including both theory with practical learning. The faculty is supportive, and the curriculum helps students build strong industrial relevant skills for future.

      Placements

The placement condition of jmi b.voc food production with the rest hospitality management is considerably one of the poorest in the institute. Even though students gets many opportunities to explore but most of the companies offer very low packages.

      Value for Money

      Very costly fees

      Campus Life

      College Infrastructure

my college has adequate infrastructure and facilities to support academic and extracurricular activities. the classrooms are well maintained and equipped with basic teaching aids. The library provides access to a good collection of books and study material.

      Academics

I am pursuing an MBA because it helps me to develop management, leadership, and decision-making skills that are valuable for my career growth. the course covers various aspects of business, including marketing, finance, human resources, and operation management the curriculum is regularly updated to reflect current industry trends and business practices.

      Placements

The placement opportunities are decent, with many students securing jobs through campus recruitment. Companies from various sectors visit the college and offer competitive packages. The average salary offered were competitive.

      Value for Money

My MBA course costs around 70,000 per year. Considering the quality of teaching, learning resources, and overall academics experience, i feel the course offers good value for money. The fees are reasonable compared to many other management programs.

      Campus Life

The college campus provides a pleasant environment for learning and student life. The best feature include well maintained classrooms, a library, and spaces for academic and extracurricular activities.

      The experience was quite enriching.

      College Infrastructure

The university has overall good infrastructure but the specific department could be improved. There should be special infrastructure designed for differently abled people because there isn't much prevalent.

      Academics

The graduation in sociology honours has been eye opening for me. The faculty is exceptional and very experienced. The curriculum was updated recently but needs to be constantly renewed. The specific course doesn't make one job ready.

      Placements

The placements are pretty average because even in a tier 1 city it's a tier 2 college. Even the engineering faculty doesn't have placement of above 80% and even management faculty faces the same issues.

      Value for Money

The course had a very nominal fee of around ~25k which is the general cost of graduation in humanities and social sciences these days. It was definitely money's worth due to the diversity offered by the campus as well as the exposure.

      Campus Life

The campus life is very engaging. There are fests ongoing all over the year of various departments which helps in networking across departments. And even engagement through inter-faculty sports events.

      Hello Dear Student,
Scoring 59/250 in the GAT leaves you at a significant disadvantage, as previous cutoff scores for B.A. (Hons.) Spanish at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) usually fall closer to the 135 to 142 range for general candidates, and around 100 for the Muslim Women quota.
