I have taken english as main subject in which I am scoring 90 and an additional language punjabi in which I am scoring 98 . can I calculate marks of physics, chem, math , punjabi ( instead of English) and physical education to cross 75 percent criteria for jee

kumardurgesh1802 15th May, 2025

Hello Ankita,

No, you cannot replace English with Punjabi while calculating the 75% eligibility criteria for JEE Main or JEE Advanced .

As per JEE rules:

To qualify under the 75% eligibility for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, you must score 75% or more in the best 5 subjects , which must include:

  1. Physics

  2. Mathematics

  3. Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject

  4. A language (this must be English , if it is a core subject in your board curriculum)

  5. One more subject (best scoring)

However, for most boards, English is treated as a compulsory subject , and you cannot skip it in the best-of-five calculation if it is part of the main subject group.

So in your case:

Even though Punjabi has a higher score, you must include English in the calculation if it is your core language subject (which it usually is in CBSE, ISC, and state boards). You can still use Punjabi as the fifth subject if your board allows it.

No, you cannot exclude English from the top 5 subject calculation if it's part of your core/main subjects . You must include English, along with PCM and two other best-scoring subjects, to meet the 75% eligibility for JEE.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

write a paragraph on importance of girl education for progress of our country 200 word

SEJAL JAIN 15th May, 2025

Girl education plays a crucial role in the progress and development of our country. When girls are educated, they gain the knowledge, confidence, and skills necessary to contribute to society and the economy.

Educated women are more likely to secure better jobs, support their families financially, and raise healthier, more educated children. This creates a positive cycle that uplifts entire communities.

Moreover, girls’ education helps reduce poverty, lower child marriage rates, and improve gender equality. An educated girl is empowered to make informed decisions about her life, health, and career, which leads to a stronger and more just society. Countries with higher levels of female education tend to experience faster economic growth and improved standards of living. Furthermore, educated women are more likely to participate in politics and civic life, bringing diverse perspectives and leadership to national development. Investing in girl education is not just a matter of social justice—it is a strategic decision that benefits everyone.

Therefore, to build a prosperous and progressive nation, it is essential to ensure that every girl has access to quality education and equal opportunities. By empowering girls through education, we invest in the future of our country.

i got compartment in 2 subject maths and physics in 12th . i had PCM,english, physical education as main subject and hindi as optional. but in result card .. physics is meantioned as additional subject and hindi is in main subject table. now will i repeat my 12th class or can clear both compartment

Samriddha Pal 11th Jun, 2025

Hello,

If you received a compartment in Mathematics and Physics in your Class 12 exams and your result card shows Physics as an additional subject while Hindi appears in the main subject table, it means your board has counted Hindi as one of your five main subjects instead of Physics. This usually happens when a student fails in one or more core subjects, and the board uses the highest-scoring optional subject to determine pass/fail status.

However, since Physics and Math are both core subjects in the PCM stream, and you’ve received compartments in them, you are still eligible to appear for compartment exams in both subjects—provided your board allows two compartments. You do not need to repeat your entire 12th class, but you must clear the compartment exams to be considered pass in the PCM stream and be eligible for further studies in Science or technical fields.

Hope this helps. All the best!

How do I leverage this education of mine for a job?

Deepthi Pradeep 23rd Aug, 2025

To leverage your education for a job , focus on connecting what you studied with the skills employers need. Highlight your practical knowledge, projects, and internships in your resume. Build a strong LinkedIn profile , showcase your strengths, and apply to roles where your education adds value. If needed, take short-term certifications to upgrade skills in demand. Networking, internships, and applying through job portals will also help. The key is to present your education as a foundation and show how it makes you capable of solving real-world problems for the employer.

Congratulations on achieving a 75% (375 marks) in your CBSE Class 12 examinations. Your performance in Mathematics and Physical Education is particularly commendable, with both at 86 marks.

To address your query regarding eligibility for NIT or IIT counselling under the General category:

Eligibility for NITs/IIITs/GFTIs via JEE Main:

Candidates must either secure a minimum of 75% in Class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board. You have already met the 75% criterion, so you satisfy this requirement.

Eligibility for IITs via JEE Advanced:

Candidates first need to qualify JEE Main and be among the top 2.5 lakh candidates. After that, qualifying JEE Advanced is required. In addition, a minimum of 75% in Class 12 is necessary, which you have already achieved.

In summary, you are eligible for both JEE Advanced and JoSAA counselling for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and related institutions.

Next Steps:

With your board eligibility confirmed, the focus should now be on achieving a competitive rank in JEE Main and JEE Advanced to maximize your options during counselling. If you require assistance with college prediction, rank analysis, or guidance on potential branches, feel free to reach out.
