The college is one of the premier institutes of the country. Especially the Practice School Program, which is a reason for the fine corporate exposure, lets it stand out uniquely as compared to any other Engineering Institution. The college culture is a 53 year old legacy, which has now developed into a structured system, addressing almost all the interests which a student may have. Even, the startup culture is becoming prominent now. Zero Reservation Policy has been the star feature of the college, as it has actually enriched the quality of student crowd in the campus. Still the faculty quality could improve largely for some departments. More focus should be given to the practical engineering knowledge, while teaching the courses. Placements can be improved a bit by increasing the no. of industry tie-ups with core companies, which actually is on its way for the college. The college hostels, well most of them are on the old lines only. The good news anyways is, almost half of them have been renovated now, and other would be done in a year or so. The fees is the biggest headache for any middle-class student. they do have academic scholarships, but the fees amount has been on a rise from the past few years. But, believe me, if you invest your time and money here, I bet you won't regret the decision and would end up with an awesome college experience.

The EEE department of BITS Pilani is one of the best in the country. O-labs of BITS is famous around Asia. The library of BITS is amongst the top libraries throughout Asia. BITS does not only compete in India level, it competes with the best universities in Asia. Placement in BITS is almost full on full. Even the packages which you get are quite high for a beginner. You will not get the amount of exposure which you get in BITS in any other private engineering college in India.

BITS Pilani is a premier engineering college known for providing quality education to its students. Apart from that, the college is known for its exciting campus life. The sprawling campus has a variety of buildings providing various amenities from state-of-the-art labs for academics to health club with various equipments for extracurricular activities. The wing culture and the diversity in students coupled with the liberty and amenities provided by BITS PIlani makes college life at this institute one of the best. The student crowd in our college is one of the best. One of the main reasons for this is the fact that there is no reservation of seats except for board toppers.

BITS Pilani is ranked to be amongst the top 10 most beautiful campuses in India. Along with being a scenic marvel, the institute is undergoing renovation under project 'Parivartan', which aims to put it amongst the top World universities in terms of architecture. As an electrical and electronics engineering student, I am benefitted a lot by the large no. of laboratories available for us. Especially, Oyster Lab, which is a $50 million initiative by BITSConnect, and is present only in 3 places all over India, including BITS Pilani, is particularly helpful for VLSI students. All in all, architecture wise, I feel BITS Pilani is just superb. BITS offers many ways to get industrial exposure. Firstly, there are two compulsary university provided trainings in companies, one for sophomore year students, and another for final year students. Because this training has now been going on for a lot of time under the name Practice School-I and Pracitce School-II, this is so much better than normal internships. The company employees seem to know what to expect of students, and the projects offered are thus well suited to us. Also, BITS offers SOP, LOP and DOP courses, which are project type graded courses. In these courses, the students have the flexibility of choosing the instructors they feel like working under. Also the topic of project is chosen by the student himself, and is generally a research interest of the supervisor faculty too. Moreover, presence of CEERI, Pilani as an adjoining building to BITS offers students the opportunity to work under scientists in various fields. This is great for both research and job oriented students. The college life, as many will say, is the best time of one's life. BITS has been magical to me. I have made friends I will not forget for my life. I have learnt to learn. I have tried so many new things: may it be sports, may it be the art to speak in new crowd, may it be holding yourself together in pressure. My college life has been great, but not easy. BITS offers you flexibility by not imposing attendence compulsion, and thus tries to inculcate discipline not by imposing it on you. Here I have learnt to decide for myself, and this is one of the most important skills I have learnt. BITS, unlike many other colleges, does not have same hostels for students throughout the college life. Each year we are moved to new hostels. The hostels for first year have double rooms, and single rooms for students after that. There is a common room in each hostel, where the whole hostel sits together for cricket and football matches. That's some feeling. Also there are badminton and volleyball courts in all hostels. Some hostels also have their own football fields too. I have mixed feelings about my Professors. I really love some of them.. I love how much they know about their subjects. They have always wanted to make their students love what they do. I look upto them, to be someday as good as them at the things I want to pursue. However, there are certain classes I think could be better taught. But all in all, I would say the faculty at my college is good. If I was asked for what more skills I would want my Professors to have, it would have to be the power of explanation. Sometimes even the most knowledgeable of professors are not able to clarify certain doubts and concepts, I wish that were not the case. BITS has amazing crowd. BITS has admissions solely on the basis of merit. There is absolutely no reservation at all. This helps bringing in the best of students from all over the country. Here I have met people, who can make the most difficult things appear easy. I have seen the best dancers, singers, sportsmen(and sportswomen). Some of my peers are already publishing in highly reputed journals. I feel really lucky to be amongst such talented people. BITS has a fee structure close to Rs. 1 Lakh per semmester. But for the students, who do really well, there are merit scholarships, which can give a discount as high as 80% on tuition fee. Also there is a scheme called (merit cum need scholarship), for students whose family income is below a certain threshold, provided their grade point is above 6. I feel lucky to have got a chance to come to study at BITS.

First, my experience in college has given me a chance to sharpen my skills in my field of choice. There have been, and there will continue to be, many opportunities to learn more ways of improving my craft as a result of my time in college, which I am truly thankful for. For example, the Press Club at my college has taught me many writing tips and rules that I was unaware even existed, and would still be unaware of had it not been a part of my experience. Because of this, I realized I still had a lot to learn despite what I thought; but this allows me to improve my skills more as I continue to attend college and also gives me more confidence in my area. And as a result, I know one day this valuable experience will help me in my search for another one-a rewarding career.
