Dr Rajendra Prasad Shiksha Mahavidyalaya, Durg Admission Process

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Shiksha Mahavidyalaya, Durg, started its constitutional function, and is indeed one of the most eminent teacher education institutions in the state of Chhattisgarh. The college is offering two full-time degree courses- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Education (D.Ed), with a total of 84 seats in both courses. The admission at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Shiksha Mahavidyalaya is intended to cater to the most deserving candidates admitted into its teacher training programs. Admissions into the two programs, B.Ed and D.Ed, are merit-based. The college relies on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or scores in entrance examinations. The selection policies would be in full consonance with the policies framed by the state government, UT administration, or the affiliated university to ensure fair and standardized admission processes. 

Successful completion of the respective qualifying examination would qualify one for admission into the program. As a general rule, most B.Ed courses require at least a graduate degree or its equivalent in relevant subjects from the candidates, while most D.Ed candidates are schooled 12-year and passed similar examinations or has their equivalents. Application Process

The following are the steps involved in the application process for Dr. Rajendra Prasad Shiksha Mahavidyalaya, Durg:

1. Announcement for Admission: Announcement of admissions is made to the college by the concerned college through different modes such as the official college website and local newspapers.

2. Application Form: Candidates fill in the application form, which is available either online on the college website or offline from the college admission office.

3. Document Submission: Candidates are required to submit duly signed application forms along with the documents, usually including:

  • Passport-size photographs
  • Mark sheet of qualifying examination (10th, 12th, and graduation in case of B.Ed)
  • Valid proof of identity
  • Caste certificate, if applicable
  • Any other certificates notified by the college

4. Entrance Examination: The applicants might be required to qualify in one or other entrance test depending upon the course or the current policy of admission.

5. Merit List Preparation: Based on marks of qualifying examinations and/or marks in entrance tests, a merit list will be prepared. 

6. Counselling and Seat Allotment: Shortlisted candidates will then be shewn to attend counseling for merit and availability based on their allotment of seats.

7. Fees Payment: Such candidates who offer admission must pay the required admission fee to retain the reserved seats for them.

8. Document Verification: After this, the college conducts a proper verification of submitted documents and finally grants admission.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Ed: According to the approved intake, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Shiksha Mahavidyalaya offers a Bachelor of Education with an intake capacity of 100 seats. Admission in B.Ed. is made by considering as well the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The process of selection follows the policy framed by the state government, UT administration, or the affiliated university. This regular program of two years has been planned to prepare students in the basic skills and competencies required for effective teaching practice. 

D. Ed: The Diploma in Education has a 50-seat two-year regular course. Similar to the B.Ed., the process is based on merit in terms of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance test. The admissions procedure is in accordance with the notified policy of the state government or UT administration.
