The Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science (LNJN NICFS), New Delhi, is a premier institution in the area of criminology and forensic science education. Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science admission procedure is expected to select students according to their understanding of crime and forensic science. The institute has been an affiliate of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), which guarantees the quality of education it provides.
Admittedly autonomous due to the limited number of seats at LNJN NICFS, it is safe to assume the institute would consider applicants' past academic qualifications, specifically pertaining to relevant undergraduate degree programmes. No other specifics on the criteria for Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science admission have been elaborated. Such detail may also include an entrance test, examination, and/or interview as part of the selection process to assess a candidate's suitability for specialised programmes undertaken by Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science.
Currently, two full-time postgraduate programmes are being offered by LNJN NICFS:
MA in Criminology is a two-year master's programme, study of crime, criminal behavior, and the system in place regarding criminal justice-hence admission will depend on a relevant bachelor's degree, i.e., sociology, psychology, law, etc. Selections may also add entrance tests and/or interviews to identify the candidate for criminology studies.
M.Sc Forensic Science is an advanced understanding of the application of scientific modes toward criminal investigations. Applicants desiring to become part of this course must possess a bachelor's degree in the field of science; preferably, the bachelor's degree should be based on chemistry, biology, or physics. Admission procedures for this programme may involve a thorough evaluation of the academic record; entrance test; and interview, to measure their scientific specifications and interest toward forensics applications.
The total number of students across all courses for both programmes is 145, but they do not mention specific intake figures. This indicates a highly selective admission process, ensuring that every admitted student gets parameters-focused attention and access to the specialised resources at the institute.
