Gargi College, Delhi was Gargi College was established in the year 1967. The institute is named after Gargi who figured in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad of the Vedic Age. In the year 2004-2005, the college was awarded the prestigious College with a Potential for Excellence grant, by the University Grants Commission. Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Commerce, Elementary Education, Microbiology, Psychology, Zoology and the Women’s Development Centre are the nine departments of the college that offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses to the students in the field of Commerce, Arts and Humanities, Science and Education.
