VJTI Mumbai Admission Process 2021
Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai offers B.Tech, Diploma, MCA, M.Tech, PG Diploma and PhD programmes and Civil & Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering & Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Humanities & Management, Mathematics, MCA, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Production Engineering, Structural Engineering, Technical & Applied Chemistry and Textile Manufacturing are the 12 academic departments of VJTI Mumbai offering these courses. VJTI Mumbai offers admission to B.Tech course on the basis of marks secured in the Joint Entrance Examination or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) Exam. Further, the aspiring candidates have to appear for the state level counselling which takes place through Common Admission Process (CAP). Admission to Diploma and PG Diploma course is based on the merit of the qualifying exam followed by Centralised Admission Process (CAP). Admission to M.Tech course is offered by Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai on the basis of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and further, they have to participate in the state-level counselling which takes place through Common Admission Process (CAP). MCA admission will be based on MHT MCA CET exam followed by participation in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the State CET Cell. VJTI Mumbai offers admission to PhD courses on the basis of academic record, written test followed by personal interview. For B.Tech:
- Maharashtra candidates have to appear for MHT CET entrance exam and obtain a valid score.
- All India candidates have to appear for JEE Main/MHT CET entrance exam and obtain a valid score.
- Candidates then have to register and appear for Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the State CET Cell.
- Rank lists will be prepared by State CET Cell, based on the marks obtained in MHT CET/JEE Main exam.
- Admission will be offered through CAP based on the rank obtained in the rank list.
For Diploma:
- Candidates have to register and appear for Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the State CET Cell.
- Rank list will be prepared by the State CET Cell based on the marks obtained by the candidates in class 10th/12th.
- Admission will be offered through CAP based on the rank obtained in the rank list.
For M.Tech:
- Candidates have to appear for GATE entrance exam.
- Then, candidates have to register and appear for Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the State CET Cell.
- Rank list will be prepared by State CET Cell based on the marks obtained by the candidates in GATE exam.
- Admission will be offered through CAP based on the rank obtained in the rank list.
For MCA:
- Candidates have to appear for MHT MCA CET exam.
- Then, candidates have to register and appear for Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the State CET Cell.
- Rank list will be prepared by State CET Cell based on the marks obtained by the candidates in MHT MCA CET exam.
- Admission will be offered through CAP based on the rank obtained in the rank list.
For PG Diploma:
- Candidates have to register and appear for Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the State CET Cell.
- Rank list will be prepared by State CET Cell based on the merit obtained by the candidates in graduation.
- Admission will be offered through CAP based on the rank obtained in the rank list.
For PhD:
- Candidates have to apply for admission online on the VJTI website.
- Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on their previous academic records.
- Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Written Test.
- Candidates having valid scores in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET ISLET/GATE/INSPIRPET (By Maharashtra Public Universities) and any other JRF holder of the apex bodies like CSIR/ UGC/ ICAR/ ICMR/ DBT/ DST/ ICSSR and PhD degree holder of University of Mumbai or any other recognised University who desires to pursue PhD at this University are exempted from the Written Test.
- Candidates who score at least 50 marks in the Written Test and candidates who are exempted from the Written Test will qualify to appear for a Personal Interview.
- Final selection will be done based on the performance in the Personal Interview.
VJTI Mumbai View Course Specific Admission Process 2021
Candidate should obtain non zero positive score in JEE Main Paper I or the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in CET and should obtain non zero score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority. However, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in JEE (Main) Paper I over the candidates who obtained non zero score in CET.
Fifteen percent (15%) seats in the institution shall be allowed on supernumerary basis from amongst Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Foreign Nationals (FN)/ Children of Non Resident Indians (NRI) and Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC) over and above of the approved intake of each discipline as sanctioned by DTE, Government of Maharashtra.
The 1/3rd of the 15% sanctioned seats are reserved for CIWGC in each discipline and remaining 2/3rd of the 15% seats are for OCI/PIO/FN.
