The facilities and infrastructure available for the course/department, such as Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library, are very Good . The quality of the facilities in the hostel, the quality of the food available in the mess and canteen, the medical facilities, and the sports and games are all very Good .
Faculty members are very good and helpful in addressing difficulties. There are highly qualified faculty, and the non-teaching staff is also supportive. This course provides an understanding of how ecosystems work. Each semester has two exams: a mid-semester and an end-semester exam.
Placements are pretty good compared to other colleges. The average package is around 11-12 LPA. Good percentage of students get internships. The highest package last year was 62 lakh and last year it was around 54 lakhs. Top recruiters are Google and Microsoft.
The classrooms are decent enough, with wooden benches, projector and AC's. Wi-Fi works in some classes and doesn't in others. The library is too good. It has all the books that you will ever need. It even has good Wi-Fi. You can be in the library for a whole day without feeling bored. The mess has okayish food—not that great. The canteen has better food than the mess. There's a cricket ground, a football ground and a basketball court as well, which is really good.
The teachers at VJTI are helpful and qualified, and most have long teaching experience. However, some contractual faculty are not as good as the full-time faculty. The old syllabus was outdated, but the new course work is more relevant and focuses on practical knowledge. The exams are hard for a very small percentage of students, but if a student fails a course, they can retake the exam once a year.
Placement statistics for Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute are very good, especially for students in the CS and IT programs. About 90% of students are placed, with an average salary of 11.17 lakh per annum. The highest salary offered was 29 lakh per annum, and the lowest was 6 lakh per annum. Some of the companies that recruit from the institute are Texas Instrument, Siemens, and Schneider Electric. About 60% of students get internships, with some going on to work for the same companies that they interned for.
College has a very good infrastructure, however, the infrastructure is now old and there are efforts being put to renovate the college. Labs are a bit outdated, but the college is bringing in new facilities. The hostels are also undergoing changes and the new PG hostel has super good facilities.
Faculty members are top notch at VJTI, who are easy to approach and are always ready to help. Curriculum is designed to have a work life balance and many courses are designed with the help of industry professionals. Semester exams are easy and straightforward. They are designed keeping in mind the growth of the students rather than focusing on book learning.
Top companies visit the college every year and around 80% of the students get placed, the rest 20% are the students who opt for further studies. The highest package offered in this course was 13.6 LPA and all the students get internship every year. Top role offered was GET in major fields.
The infrastructure is good enough not that great but it contains every essential component. The college classes are now fitted with acs and some with projectors too. There are labs with non working components so it is one cons. Overall its ok. The hostel now are renovated so has good condition and capacity.
Some of the faculty members are very good and helpful in addressing difficulties. There are highly qualified faculty, and the non-teaching staff is also supportive. This course provides an understanding of how ecosystems work. Each semester has two exams: a mid-semester and an end-semester exam.
One of the best placement cells in Mumbai. With almost 70% of the total batch placed in March, VJTI led the placements in Mumbai after IIT Bombay. The average package was 11 LPA and the highest package offered was around 57 LPA from a US-based software company. Training and placemnt support Is excellent in my college.
Good Facilities are available in my Deportment. A decent atmosphere to study is also available. The infrastructure could be a little bit better because the quality of the furniture is not good. There are enough screens and a projector set up for e-learning also.
The college is autonomous and the curriculum is up-to-date. The teachers are very friendly and helpful. They are always available when you have any doubt or issue. The semester exams are a bit easier as the faculty members set the paper themselves, so we are well-acquainted with the syllabus. There are hardly 2-3 students in a batch who fail in a subject. The cases of year drops are very low.
The highest package in our course was 14 LPA and the average package was 5 LPA. Considering the students who sat for placements, the placement percentage was roughly around 80-85 percent. It’s compulsory to do an internship of at least 6 weeks in the summer break of our third year.
Since the college is over 100 years old, the infrastructure is not a strong point of the college, with CS, Textile, and IT departments being an exception. Yes, VJTI does provide hostel facilities for students, although not all students get the hostels. There are 2 hostels for B.Tech and Diploma, for both boys and girls. In addition, there is 1 hostel for M.Tech students. The M.Tech hostels are amazing, with facilities like geysers, cleaner washrooms, balconies, and lifts.
Most of the faculty is good enough, but you will face some problems with a few facilities. This is true for every branch in the college. Most of the teachers provide useful notes and are very experienced. The HOD is very interactive with the students. They listen to and resolve the issues accordingly.
The placements of my college go neck to neck with most of the NITs and a few IITs. It is the factor that attracts most of the students. The top recruiting companies are: Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, ICICI Bank, etc. The highest package in 2024 was 57 LPA. The lowest placement is generally between 6-12 LPA. The highest internship stipend was 5.9L. There were 400+ internship offers. There were 27+ selections in Google.
The facilities and infrastructure available for the course/department, such as Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library, are very poor. The quality of the facilities in the hostel, the quality of the food available in the mess and canteen, the medical facilities, and the sports and games are all very poor.
The teachers are helpful, but most of them had poor knowledge of the subject matter. The syllabus was outdated, but the students were industry-ready due to their own hard work and persistence. The placement rate was good, but the papers for some subjects were very difficult and application-based. Only two or three subjects had faculty with PhD degrees; the others were not qualified. The pass percentage was 40%.
About 70% of students were placed, and the placement percentage depended on the branch of study. The lowest salary package was 6 LPA, the highest was 36 LPA, and the average was 15 LPA. Only 4 or 5 companies recruited for my course, and most students were placed in software-based companies like Texas Instruments. Technical roles were offered mostly for B.Tech courses, but sometimes management roles were available.
VJTI Mumbai offers modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, reliable Wi-Fi, and a well-stocked library. Hostels provide basic accommodation with average food quality, though variety is available. Medical facilities are adequate, and sports facilities include cricket, football, and basketball.
The faculty at VJTI Mumbai is highly qualified, experienced, and approachable, providing excellent guidance. Teaching quality is strong, combining theory with practical learning. The curriculum is industry-relevant, preparing students well for careers in technology. Semester exams are moderately challenging, with a high pass percentage, typically around 90%.
At VJTI Mumbai, around 90-95% of students from the engineering batches are placed. The highest package is 40 LPA, with an average of 10-12 LPA. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Around 70% of students secure internships in companies like Infosys, Amazon, and Intel. Roles offered include Software Engineer, Data Scientist, and Systems Engineer.
The Mechanical department in the college has very good infrastructure. All the facilities are provided in classrooms. The lab instruments are precise. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus area. The hostel conditions are not that good. The hostel has poor infrastructure, but the mess food is good.
Most of the faculty members are PhD holders from IITs. They have vast knowledge in their respective fields. The schedule of the college is so busy, like 9 AM to 5 PM job. The college starts from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Semester exams are quite tough, and the minimum percentage required for passing is 35%.
The college has a very good placement rate. In the last year, around 75-80% of students got placed on campus. The highest salary package offered for civil engineers is 14 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 7 LPA. Almost all college students get an internship. Some students got paid internships and some got unpaid internships.
the labs are decent but the equipment's needs to be updated, sometimes you have to share with other students. the classrooms are basic to just do the job. nothing fancy as such. the campus is quite well maintained with lifts in some of the buildings
VJTI already has a great reputation . the course covers all the topics you need to be learning to join an industry. however some parts of curriculum are outdated . all the profs are well experienced and know their job. hardly looks like a prof is behind completion of syllabus rest of them are fine and make sure everyone knows the concepts
coming to the placements , they are pretty good for Btech but not that great for diploma. only the deserving students get placed . most of them opt for higher studies. and the salary packages are less as compared to the degree students
Vjti is an government college. the fees for 3 years of diploma in chemical engineering for an open category student was just around 40 thousands. and the facilities , and quality of staff is much more valuable. defiantly a value for money
the campus life is pretty chill, with lot of events. cultural and non cultural. vjti has a club for almost everything. pratibimb and rangawardhan are two main non technical fests with Technovanza in the technical side. the campus life is great . enthusia is the main sports event longing for around 10 days
Hello,
Yes, your daughter is eligible for diploma course at Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), with 85% marks in 10th SSC board. The minimum requirement for this is atleast 35% marks from a recognised board in Maharashtra.
All the best!!!
Yes, you can appear for JEE Mains 2026 even with 70% in your 12th boards . According to the eligibility criteria for JEE Mains, the minimum required percentage in the 12th board exams is generally 75% (for General category students) or 65% (for SC/ST students). However, this requirement is for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JEE Mains .
For other private colleges or some government colleges that take JEE Mains scores but don't follow the NIT/IIIT/GFTI criteria , you might still be able to get admission with a 70% in your 12th board.
IIITs : These institutes typically require a 75% or more in the 12th boards to be eligible for JEE Mains and counseling. If you don't meet the eligibility in 12th boards but still wish to pursue an engineering degree, you can focus on clearing JEE Mains with a good rank to increase your chances in counseling.
VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) , Mumbai: VJTI generally follows the Maharashtra State Quota system, which also considers MHT-CET scores. Your JEE Mains score will still be relevant for all India counseling , but MHT-CET and 12th marks (as per state rules) play a significant role.
COEP (College of Engineering Pune) : COEP typically requires a Maharashtra domicile and the MHT-CET exam score. However, the JEE Main score is accepted for some other seats, and your 12th board percentage might not be a barrier to appear for JEE Mains 2026 . You can still aim for good marks in JEE Mains and appear in the All India quota or through other eligibility criteria for various colleges.
Appearing for JEE Mains 2026 : Focus on JEE Mains 2026 preparation to achieve a competitive rank that may improve your chances at IIITs, VJTI, or COEP.
MHT-CET : Since you are from Maharashtra, appearing for MHT-CET will be an advantage in securing a seat in VJTI and COEP through the Maharashtra state quota.
Improving your 12th Marks : If you have the option to improve your 12th percentage (through supplementary exams or retakes), it might help to meet the eligibility for IIITs .
With a 72%ile in JEE Mains April 2025 and 70% in your 12th boards , here's what you should consider for admission to COEP (College of Engineering Pune) and VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) :
JEE Mains Score : A 72%ile in JEE Mains puts your rank around 90,000 - 1,10,000 (approximately).
Eligibility Criteria : For COEP, Maharashtra domicile students generally have better chances through MHT CET . If you're eligible for the All India quota, your JEE Mains rank might still allow you to secure a seat, but the chances for competitive branches like CSE and IT are limited with a 72%ile . For less competitive branches like Mechanical or Civil , it may still be possible, depending on the availability of seats.
12th Marks : You have 70% in your 12th boards, which meets the minimum eligibility for MHT CET (you need at least 50% in 12th for open category and 45% for reserved categories).
JEE Mains Score : A 72%ile might not be sufficient for top branches like CSE or IT at VJTI, which usually have a high cutoff. However, for other branches like Mechanical , Electrical , and Civil , you may still have a chance if the All India rank allows, although it's competitive.
MHT CET : Like COEP, VJTI follows MHT CET scores for Maharashtra students , and your MHT CET score will likely play a bigger role in securing a seat here. For JEE Mains candidates, VJTI considers JEE scores as well, but MHT CET scores will have more weightage for Maharashtra candidates.
12th Marks : You meet the eligibility criteria of 70% in your boards for MHT CET and for JEE Mains admission.
COEP : You may have a chance for less competitive branches like Mechanical or Civil , but CSE and IT might be difficult with your 72%ile in JEE Mains . Applying through MHT CET could increase your chances.
VJTI : Similar to COEP, CSE and IT are very competitive, and 72%ile may not be sufficient. If you're from Maharashtra , focus on MHT CET , which could give you a better chance of admission.
Apply through MHT CET : Given you're from Maharashtra, focus on applying through MHT CET for both COEP and VJTI, as MHT CET holds more weight for these colleges.
Prepare for Upcoming JEE Mains Attempts : You can try improving your JEE Mains score in future attempts to increase your chances for top branches .
Explore Other Colleges : Look into other colleges that accept JEE Mains scores and may have lower cutoffs for less competitive branches.
