Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering is a four-year (8 Semesters) full-time undergraduate program offered by National Institute of Technology Silchar.

The Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the oldest and finest Departments in the region. The workshops of the Department contain highly sophisticated machines presenting a unique and unparalleled quality. Various research & development activities undertaken by the Department put the students on busy schedules enabling them to blend to the modern industry requirements.


Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12 th /qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main). The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE (Main) and if such candidates appear in JEE (Main) by furnishing wrong information, their rank/result will not be declared.

Admission Details

Admissions to the first semester of all Undergraduate courses are made on the basis of seats allocated by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from the list of candidates selected by all India JEE (Main). Besides, a specified number of foreign nationals/NRIs selected under the policy laid down by Govt. of India, are admitted directly to the 1st year of the courses.

The Wi-Fi system is very good with high speed internet. Wifi is available to the whole campus.we can use Wi-Fi without any issues in the Ethernet.The labs are good with good equipment and also we have well trained lab incharges they will explain and help us to do the practical sessions.
