National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar admissions to all undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses are made based on qualifying examination, a valid score in the entrance test followed by a counselling session. NIT Silchar offers admission to five academic programmes – B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, M.B.A and Ph.D in various disciplines. The UG, PG and Ph.D courses are mainly offered in engineering branches, management disciplines, basic sciences and humanities field.
The NIT Silchar admission to the B.Tech course is made through JoSAA on the basis of the score in JEE Main. For admission to the M.Tech course, candidates have to qualify GATE and participate in CCMT counselling. The NIT Silchar admission to the M.B.A programme is given based on the score in the entrance exam, followed by GD and PI. For the M.Sc. programme, admission is made through CCMN counselling based on the JAM score.
