We have the best infrastructure, the classrooms are really big that can accomodate 80 students easily and also lecture halls of capacity 200. There are well equiped laboratories. Library is very large containing more than 50000 books. The mess maintainance and food are very hygenic.

Academic curriculum is very thoughtful. The subjects that are included focus on various aspects of the course so that anyone can chose their interest and chose their careerpath. Exams are held every month in a semester. The faculty are very good and always open for doubts and discussions.

According to 2024, the placement percentage is 68 which is a decent percent. Not all students sit for campus placements but have plans for higher studies or opt for various other domains like civil services and all. The companies that come for placements and even interns are well known for their work. He highest and average package varies from branch to branch.

Kife at IIT Guwahati is totally worth for the fees we pay. Comparing to other universities or colleges, iits have low fees which is benificial for almost every student. There are scholarships for students based on merit and also financial status which is anothet hand for the fees.

The college is well known for not only academics, but also many clubs and cultural fests. There are various kinds of clubs and cultural fests and technical fests in which we can join according to our interests. We can also join without any prior knowledge. Later, we will get to know many things through our seniors, club heads. And based on our contribution to the club and performance in the interviews, we can also become the club head. And this is a very good experience. I have participated in many clubs and also given many interviews. Maybe we get rejected in the interview, but the overall experience will be very good. We will gain a lot of knowledge.There are many Hangouts for students in the campus. There are CCD, Cafe Coffee day, and Lakeview Tea Stall, Hashtag Canteen. There are many canteens, also there are many Hangouts for students in the core buildings itself. We used to meet after the class or after coming from labs, relax there with friends and have a very good talk. The Nightlife in iit Guwahati is quite peaceful. We can roam on the campus even in the midnight without saying a word. It's very safe also. There is security all around the campus.

Infrastructure is really good; at most places, you will get Wi-Fi. The library is also excellent. It's very comfortable reading in the library. The classroom is good, facilities are good—everything is good. In the hostel, you will get sufficient washing machines and a water cooler on each floor.

Professors in IITG are highly talented; every faculty member has completed their Ph.D. The professors can be rude and strict, requiring proper discipline. The course schedule is very hectic. In the first two semesters, the syllabus includes 3 core subjects and 2 elective subjects. In the last two semesters, it includes 2 core subjects, 2 elective subjects, and 1 project. For the first year, the credit pattern is 36+36 credits per semester, and for the last year, it is 44+44 credits per semester. Exams are difficult, with mostly conceptual questions.

Placement is definitely less when we compare it with other courses like engineering. Our senior batch strength is 30 students, and all are placed with at least one offer. Eight students cracked state or central government civil service exams and got government jobs. Before placement, we all received internship opportunities. Consulting firms such as EMSI, Brain, BCG, and McKinsey, along with many NGOs and financial firms, came for hiring. A few students pursued Ph.D. studies, but in the end, 100% of the students were placed.

Hello Everyone Nobin this side.. Yes the college is having all the necessary infrastructure, equipments and other facilities and no doubt it is a very beautiful looking campus. The living space is clean and the mess food is also ok..

As a Msc student, I like the way teachers teach us and share their own life experience. So, quality of teaching is nice. Yes, the curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments. Yes, if you have worked with focus you will get a decent package.

Their are nice placement opportunities for Msc students at IIT guwahati and many people grab these placements and perform very well no doubt you have develop the required skills first. The placement process is simple.. Thankyou.

The institute has a modern academic building equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms, lecture halls, seminar rooms, and laboratories. These facilities are designed to facilitate interactive learning, research, and collaborative projects across various disciplines. The Central library at IIT Guwahati consists of a large number of books, journals, e-books, e-journals, databases, and multimedia materials.

Some faculty members are too good and some are just too bad at teaching. Also, the exams and curriculum are too, since they completed almost 3 months of courses in just 1 month. But since the marking is relatively high, the passing percentage is high. But in some courses, the marking is absolute as well. It depends on professor to professor.

The placement rate is around 80 percent this year where the highest package offered was 1 crore LPA, the lowest was 7 LPA, and the average package is 20 LPA, but the median is around 15 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple. Top roles were mostly provided in quants.

Very good college in Guwahati.

There are 11 hostels on our campus; out of those, 3 are girls and 8 are boys. The food quality in hostels is so good and the accommodation is also good. Classrooms and libraries are very well maintained and in good condition. Our campus has fully installed Wi-Fi.

Professors are, no doubt, well-qualified. Semester exams are really challenging and demand great dedication. Their curriculum is very rigorous, as can be expected from any other IIT. The faculty are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and also easily approachable.

Around 90 to 95% of students were placed in my course. The highest CTC and the lowest CTC range from nearly 60 LPA to 12 LPA respectively for the ECE course. Top recruiters include Amazon, Google, Facebook, Uber, IBM, BCG, WorldQuant, Samsung, Texas Instruments, Nvidia, etc.

The college is having a very developed infrastructure, their are some water disposal facilities that can be improved else it is good. You will get wifi also. In hostel study table and personal Almirah is provided to students.

IIT Guwahati is enriched with great teachers and because of that the students develop a lot of skills in each semester. Also, participating in college events increases our communication skills and can overcome your public speaking fear.

The college also give a good no. of opportunities to get a decent placement and students grab these packages according to their set of skills, their is nothing different in the placement process it is same like in other colleges.

I would say that the college is very beautiful, the buildings in the campus looks great. The mess food is not that much good so use canteen. One more thing is that the campus looks amazing in rainy season with clouds.. And their is proper wifi ..

As a MTECH student what I can say is that the college has great, understandable teachers , you can them for guidance. And the academic is similar to other IIT's according to curriculum. And you can a grab a nice job if you develop the demanding skills...

The average package for a Mtech student is very very nice. Also, being from CSE branch if you developed right skills you can get a package more than 50 lpa for sure.. And also for other branches I feel the same if skills are their big companies are for you.

Teachers and professors of IIT Guwahati are highly qualified with Ph.D. degree in their respective major. The curriculum although I feel is less relevant to the current scenario as it does not teach modern technology and follows its conservative approach to the corporate world. Thereby, we can see a lack of modern skills in students and their way of coping up with job profiles.

This is relatively a new branch but has a great scope of placements and internships. In recent years, good amount of students have secured their early internships and placements from this branch. It is comparable to Computer Science engineering and foster's a potential of being the Next pumped-up sector and branch.

The curriculum is updated as it is a new branch and can foster the needs of current world in job profiles. It provides all the necessary skills for a Computer Science student is expected to have with additional benefit of algorithm designing and knowledge of finance .

IIT Guwahati mechanical department has been given a lot of awards for having a high passing percentage of students. Its placement statistics are also good enough. The average package is around 10 to 15 LPA with top recruiters being TATA, Mahindra, Bajaj, In core, etc. With roles of design engineer, project manager, production engineer etc.
