Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering is a four-year (8 Semesters) full-time undergraduate program offered by National Institute of Technology Silchar.

The Department of Electronics & communication offers B. Tech programme in Electronics & communication Engineering covering modern communication and software technologies. Keeping in mind the great potential and demand for new communication technologies, the Department aims at imparting its students with the latest knowledge in the field. To complement this the Department has well stocked laboratories housing various modern equipments to enable the students to keep pace with the fast changing technology.

Eligibility Criteria

Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and secured at least 75% aggregate marks. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.

Admission Details

Admissions to the first semester of all Undergraduate courses are made on the basis of seats allocated by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from the list of candidates selected by all India JEE (Main). Besides, a specified number of foreign nationals/NRIs selected under the policy laid down by Govt. of India, are admitted directly to the 1^st year of the courses.

College Infrastructure

NIT Silchar maintains a well-maintainned campus with modern infrastructure - spacious classrooms equipped with smart boards, central library, sports facilities and descent hostels. Overall infrastructure is good which helps in excelling in academics and extra-curricular activities.

College Infrastructure

NIT SILCHAR do have a good infrastructure but not the best. There are two blocks where the classes are held one is the old gallery and other is the new gallery ,only new one do posses adequate facilities and equipment while the old is not so equipped. When it comes to hostel facilities ,hostels which are built recently have good infrastructure, the living spaces are not so good for the first years ,south Indians face difficulties in food taste.

My experience is very good.

College Infrastructure

Campus is 600 acres in size. It has the green campus. Campus has the Admin Building, Largest Digital library of Asia, the wildly spread green campus. Campus has 10 boys and 4 girl hostel with well equipped amenities.
