National Institute of Technology Silchar is ranked at 51 in the Engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019, making it one of the leading technical institutes in India. NIT Silchar has had a great placement record with more than 86% of B.Tech students getting placed last year, with an average annual CTC of INR 6.25 LPA. The highest package offered was for INR 32.5 LPA, from Arcesium India Pvt Ltd. Placement is very goo .On considering students with above 6. 5 CGPA, almost good percent gets placed in ECE and CSE branch. Although it is a little less in other branches. Few companies like ITC, L&T Infotech, Cap Gemini, Samsung R&D, TATA etc visits every year. But as per your specific industrial automation is not good according to placements .

The decision solely rests upon you. I would also recommend you to take CSE placement wise and considering all other factors whether be it seniors from coding club giving you programming classes to get you on the edge along with vast online resouces or the strong alumni network where a number of them works in leading software giants. But as I said the decision must be yours and yours only. Once you join NIT Silchar learning will never be a problem if you choose to remain active throughout the 4 years.
