Government First Grade College, Kolar (GFGC Kolar) is an institution with a track record of excellence in quality education in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs it offers. The admission process of the college is all-embracing and aims to diversify opportunities for students from various backgrounds.
GFGC Kolar generally commences its admission procedure for the new academic session during the months that follow the declaration of 12th standard results. The college offers a range of 17 courses under seven degree programs. GFGC Kolar shows an intention to maintain quality education through its NAAC accreditation.
Students seeking admission to undergraduate programs are generally expected to complete their 10+2 studies at any recognized board. Admission to selected courses is based on the qualifying examination marks. The specific cut-off percentages differ for different courses and the number of applications received but are aimed at diversifying educational opportunity among a larger pool of students.

Application Submission: Completed application forms along with all required documents must be submitted to the college office before the specified deadline.
Merit List: The college prepares a merit list based on candidates' academic performance, which is published on the notice board.
Counseling and Seat Distribution: Candidates who make the merit list are invited for counselling for which they may choose their preferred course, provided it is available and merit permits.
Fee Payment: Selected candidates must pay their fees within the stipulated time to secure their admission.
Orientation: New entrants shall go through an orientation program where they would be made aware of the college rules, facilities at their disposal and academic expectations.
B.A. (Bachelor of Arts): GFGC Kolar is offering BA with six specialization areas: History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, and optional subjects, like Kannada and Urdu for admission. The marks obtained at 12th standard shall be the basis for admission through merit with consideration only of relevant subjects in relation to the specialization chosen.
B.Sc: GFGC offers four specializations in B.Sc. They are Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, Computer Science, and Botany, Zoology which include Biotechnology; candidates seeking admission under these courses should be from science background in their 12th standard. Merit-Based admission is done according on the marks obtained in the relevant science subjects.
B.Com: Candidates who have done their 12th standard with commerce or equivalent subjects would be considered for the B.Com admission. Selection is made on consideration of marks secured in the qualifying examination.
BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration): Admission for the BBA program is available for candidates across all streams. Overall percentage in the 12th standard is considered by the college, and interviews may take place later to decide on a final selection.
BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): Mathematics is one of the subjects that students need to take in their 12th standard so they'll be accepted to apply in the program. The BCA selection process would be conducted based on the marks achieved in mathematics and the overall score achieved at the qualifying examination.
BSW: The college will take in students from all streams in the case of entrance into the BSW program. Admission shall be based on marks from the 12th standard, and an assessment interview could also take place to assess a candidate's aptitude for social work.
M.A. (Master of Arts): The M.A programs offered by GFGC Kolar are in History, Political Science, and Kannada. The candidate's undergraduate performance is usually the basis of entry into any of these postgraduate courses. The college may also conduct entrance tests or interviews for final selection.
Average experience of learning there teachers were good and very humble they solve every doubts students have regarding their respective subjects and syllabus was simple and very easy but not that much impactful
We had a good teaching all the professors teaches well in our college even though it's a government over it was a good college and teachers are very friendly and ready to solve doubts of students in friendly manner
