Student driven culture- The student council and SIG’s of SIBM Pune are responsible for undertaking the most critical activities ranging from conducting admissions to maintaining alumni or corporate relations to cultural events to placements with the guidance and support of the Director. The councils independently decide their course of events and plan them end to end along with preparing budgets and handling resources efficiently. Placements- The official reports on Placements and Summer Internships are externally audited and is one of the few colleges that follow IPRS(Indian Placement Reporting Standards). Hence, I can vouch for the figures disclosed in the placement report. Every year, the outgoing batch’s average salary has been on a consistent rise. Last year the official average package offered was 17.48 lacs for the outgoing batch. Batch Size- The Batch size is small, opening doors for more participation in college activities and genuine networking. The course is specially designed for each of the specialization. Tests, Assignments, and Projects are given on a regular basis. The student needs to choose his/her specialization in the initial days. Does live up to the standards it portraits

Being an international student, I solely joined the college based on its reputation it portrays in the outside world. But it is due to the students who are capable enough before entering the institute that keeps its reputation intact. The faculty or the academic program does not play any role in improving the quality of the students. The only benefit to joining this college is that due its good reputation the placements are good but for Marketing and HR only. Also, a good amount of exposure to corporate competitions is received but the expertise lacks in cracking those competitions in the students in the first year as no assistance is provided by the institute itself to guide the students in approaching the case studies.

Learning while Enjoying

The one thing you look when you enter campus is the picturesque view from lavale hills. We were enjoying the honeymoon period for the first few days then the course started with a nice induction programme which helped students to gain knowledge on business etiquettes and skills on leadership, strategy, teamwork, etc. During the induction, we had an ice breaking session, a trip to Karjat, and various lectures from industry experts. After the commencement of classes, we were exposed to many subjects of all specializations. Deadlines of never-ending assignments, classes, numerous guest lectures made us learn the art of multi-tasking. The experience has been enriching and I am looking forward to a great time ahead.

Best days of my life

One of the best things that happened to me was SIBM Pune. Started the MBA career on 1st June, Indoor stadium (Gym, swimming pool, T.T., Pool, Badminton, and squash) was a great blessing for a sportsperson like me. Outing to Karjat during induction program was the much-needed icebreaker when I made best friends. the hilltop location is one the rarest things an MBA college can offer we live 2 years in a hill station. Great placements and an internship with some big names like HUL ITC JP Morgan Morgan Stanley etc coming to the campus. Hostel life is great, 2 am entry time restriction and midnight canteen that is open till 2 am too. A mix of a talented crowd coming from all across the country and abroad. diversity is great too.

I have been a part of this pronounced institution for almost one year now and I feel proud to be associated with it. This institute has given me a new life, new experiences which molded me so much. SIBM Pune is a totally student driven college. It teaches you to be a manager right from day 1. Right from focusing on the nuts and bolts of organizing an event to actually participating and winning a competition - you learn it all. B-schools can intimidating initially but if you have a good faculty/staff, seniors and supportive colleagues/classmates, it can be as easy as falling off a log. There's an amazing sense of camaraderie here at SIBM P, it doesn't matter if you're fresher or a lateral. It keeps you motivated to achieve your goals. SIBM is a very old and prestigious college for MBA. there is no doubt that it provides excellent placement opportunities. but more than that the kind of experience it gives to its students during its 2-year course is unparalleled. the SIBM lavale campus is shared by various other campuses of Symbiosis so it gives its students a chance to interact with students of various other streams and courses. SiBM is situated at the hill top of lavale, the exquisite beauty of the campus and the surrounding hills gives us an experience of a hill station. sometimes it is difficult to study in such a lovely campus as the weather also comes as a distraction. The curriculum of the college is extremely rigorous for its students. the college makes the students ready for any challenges that they might encounter in their work environment. it gives great emphasis on punctuality and discipline. the hostels are clean and give all the basic facilities to its students. the windows of the rooms open directly towards the sight of the valley. SIBM is totally a student driven college so it gives maximum exposure to its students and prepares them for future leadership roles. SIBM has a very large alumni base in the industry .the placement record of the college had been good over the years. although the college is far from the city, it provides free of cost bus service at regular intervals.i would highly recommend SIBM Pune to any student who wants to pursue MBA from here.

I did what I won't recommend to others

Overall it's no worth on immediate basis to take up the course. It's just a course introduced to make money. Initially, the administration says that attendance is important but you'll see new faces directly in the examination. Ultimately they want ppl to take up the course and don't want to ma Tain it's credibility. Teachers are a mix of good and bad.
