Strength in Diversity

Batch of 2018 | PGDM
SPJIMR is situated in a plush 40 acres campus in Andheri West, Mumbai. We have 4 specializations in our flagship 2 year PGDM course- Finance, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Information Management. It is one of the few colleges in India where admission is based on merit and not on reservation of any sort. Apart from this the admission is broken up into two sectors: Profile Based and Score Based. This ensures a crowd which is very diverse in nature, case in point being I study with someone who is an actor in the Bengali film industry, a singer in the Marathi film industry, someone who is a nail artist, a cricketer for Jharkhand, an MS in physics employed in the R & D of Mercedes Benz, CAs, Digital Marketers and many more. Each of them brings their own unique traits which miraculously amalgamates into this glorious pool of resources and experiences for everyone to draw from. The pedagogy involves education through group work. Hence all through the 2 years, every assignment and project that one works on is in a group. This imbibes team spirit, fraternity and provides access to the collective knowledge and experience. Another great differentiator of SPJIMR is the Global FastTrack program where PGDM participants get to study advanced courses at top colleges in USA (Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Darden, and Booth) for a month. Apart from this students spend their first year mentoring an under privileged kid. At the end of the second semester they travel abroad (Colombia, Vietnam) and in India for rural immersion program of 5 weeks. This is how SPJIMR uses top notch management knowledge to give back to the society as well .Placement statistics are reliable since they are audited by a government body. Faculty is world class. Our in-house faculty fly out for guest lectures and we also fly in some professors from colleges abroad (Europe, America, and Japan) to teach us. All in all, strength in diversity is our biggest success story.

So far it is very good and above expectations

SPJIMR lags in basic Infrastructure required for a good MBA college. There is the dearth of rooms during placements, hostels are 3 seaters, hostel mess is not up to the mark, etc. A new academic block is already under construction with world class facilities. Open auditoriums can add spark to the dull life here. Common hostels for boys and girls make the hostel life more lively. College professors are the best you can find in this field and can be easily compared to those in IIM - A B C or L. Strength of SPJAIN lies in the profile of the students. The basic process of admission at SPJAIN ensures that the quality of students is of paramount importance to the institute. The fee is quite nominal compared to other B-schools. Overall I think that my decision to opt for this institute is worth it and it will add a brand to my life.

SPJIMR, one of the top ten b-schools in the country, is all about the Bhawan's legacy. Our college lies inside the Bhawan's Campus. Further infrastructure development activities to expand the academic block are underway. Additionally, the college is implementing several measures to improve corporate exposure like organizing interactive events with company officials. It is also a cultural center with all major festivals like Eid, Ganesh Chaturthi being celebrated with gusto by participants and faculty alike. They add to the Spartan experience. Placement opportunities for Marketing and IM specializations are marginally better. The hostels are very well equipped and maintained in comparison to many others with good disciplinary practices. We have exceptional faculty members. The student crowd is diverse and very supportive of each other. The college fees are relatively higher due to the inclusion of GFT costs.

The campus of SPJIMR is a bit small; but we do have well-equipped study rooms, library, playgrounds and smaller rooms but well-maintained hostels. Being at the heart of the industrial capital of the country, SPJIMR has to offer a wide variety of corporate sessions, seminars and guest lectures on different topics. For me, college life is all about the people I spend my 2 years with. The student crowd was very diverse and very talented, which was a great learning experience in itself. By having very good placements and many non-academic activities, SPJIMR is affordable.

Batch of 2017 | Post Graduate Programme in Family Managed Business
My experience in this institute is good as the course is still going on . It's only been 5 months of learning in this institute . The duration of my course is 18 months. The course covers everything about one's family business which includes marketing, consumer behaviour, managing self, financial accounting, financial statements and much more to be taught to us. We are a strength of 108 students in this particular batch. The batch is further divided into 2 divisions. Our batch is known as FMB21, which means family managed business and 21 is the 21st batch of this particular course. The campus is spread over 50 acres of lush greenery and playgrounds all around. The benefit of this course is that one gets to know about several businesses and trades in the country and gets to know about every state of the nation by knowing the students as the course is always having students coming from every part of the country. There are students of every age group starting from 21 to 40 years old. This institute is best at providing the exposure and has the best supply chain when compared to other institutes. These 5 months of my learning in this institute have taught me a lot about the market, people and yes obviously about the business.

The college experience is wonderful. After possessing three years of experience, I feel that SP Jain was the correct choice do pursue MBA.The courses are well structured, case studies and the examples used in classes are mostly localised but the thoughts are global which makes enable to relate with the current business perspective. My peers are from diverse backgrounds which makes it a nice mix to study under. The professors are mostly good, the administration isn’t very good.

One of the Top B-schools in the country, ranking among Top 10 in most surveys if not all. Extremely liberal faculty. Takes ample advantage of its location being in Mumbai, leveraging the industry presence in the city. Campus infrastructure might disappoint, but Upgradation is in process, and has gathered steam already.placements are really good and many reputed companies and startups come for placement.

SPJIMR has been one of the best things that happened to me. Be it the kind of exposure to a diverse and talented bunch of people or the interaction with the corporate world, my institute helped me rediscover myself at every stage and instilled a sense of unshakable confidence that a leader would require. The infrastructure is a drawback, obviously, what can we ask for having positioned ourselves at the heart of the financial hub, Bombay . However, the location also works to our advantage be making the senior management of sought after firm accessible to visit us for guest lectures. Beyond the academic rigour, our management and sports fest, OJAS and SPRINT respectively create a lot of buzz in the campus and bring out the fledgling managers in us.

College life is somewhere between chilled out and I can't handle that shit. Staff members are qualified, dignified professionals. You can approach them at all times and strike a conversation. Most importantly your peer group would be the ones from whom you learn the most.

The institute itself is a rather small building but the campus on a whole is massive as it houses various other colleges and schools. The SPJIMR has good air-conditioned classrooms and a really good library. Although the campus has good sports infra but then management students are not allowed to use them, but anyway to make you feel good, there isn’t enough time for you to use them either. The hostels are said to be good.

Apart from a few glaring administrative roadblocks, almost everything about Spjimr is as good as any other top notch b school in India. The distinctive selection process ensures that participants here are not just academically brilliant scholars but also high achievers in other avenues.

SPJIMR is regarded as one of the premier B-School in India. A good network is what you can be sure of getting here. The Faculty is one of best in country. SPJIMR focuses on learning by experience and learning by experimentation. The crowd is a perfect mixture of students from various fields. One of the best private B-schools. Also being in Mumbai it is a great place to do your MBA from. If you are looking out for some different type of course and an all round development go for it.

SP Jain Mumbai

At SPJIMR, I was surrounded by an unmatched peer group. The selection process at the institute ensures an inflow of extremely talented individuals who have had their share of accolades in a wide breadth of area beyond curriculum. The location of the institute is conducive to visits from industry leaders. Learning by doing is ingrained in the institute culture. Giving back to the society is not a buzz-phrase at SPJIMR- students inculcate these values through multiple courses and internships. SPJIMR has differentiated itself by having the courage to carry on with autumns internship (when everyone else has summers) with huge success. The institute boasts of a class of full-time teachers who are veterans from industry (multiple ex-CEOs, VPs) and academia (includes visiting faculty from different parts of India and abroad). Students drive all activities in campus and there is little administrative interference. The only turnoff is the infrastructure, especially the hostel facility and food options.
