    Course Overview

    Marketing plays an important role in the growth of a company. As a function, its focus is on customers, it channelizes the mindset of business towards customers to deliver superior customer experience. In the process, it adds value to the company in a sustainable way. With an increase in literacy and travel, advent of the internet and global communication, people are more informed, more demanding and consumption cultures are changing. Marketing diagnoses the change addresses the change and also creates the change by launching new offerings in the market, communicating them and creating new markets. They all occur in a climate of intense competition.  

    The program develops a new generation of leaders with a strong foundation in marketing theories, practices, and skills.

    Program Objectives

    • Provide an understanding of marketing management at a basic level.
    • To feel the depth of marketing function through elective courses.
    • Recognize the ever-changing nature of the market place and evolution of different practices.
    • Understand the use of technology and the internet as a strategic medium, in marketing.

    Program Structure

    • The Two Year PGDM (Marketing) Programme is covered in six trimesters.
    • In two years, the student studies 24 core subjects covering all functional areas, 15 electives from different functional areas and undertakes 1 summer internship project.
    • In the first year (during three trimesters), the student will learn concepts in all the key areas of management.
    • In the second year, the student will focus on Marketing as an area of specialization. He will choose  8 electives of Marketing to study for area specialization and another 7 electives from other areas.

    The two year PGDM(Marketing) Programme also offers dual specializations with Marketing as a major area and minor in any of the other six areas –Finance, Information Technology Management, Operations Management, OB and Human Resource, Economics and Business Analytics.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • The candidate must be a graduate with 50% or equivalent pass marks
    • IMT Nagpur accepts the scores of CAT / XAT / GMAT / CMAT. The applicant is required to fill the complete IDs of the test score he/she wishes to submit.

    Admission Details

    IMT will short-list the candidates for the Critical Thinking-Group Exercise-Personal Interview(CT-GE-PI) process based on their best available test scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT score for Nagpur campus. Post-short-listing on the basis of available scores, applicants will be called for CT-GE-PI process and the final offering will be based on scores, performance in CT-GE-PI process and the overall profile of the candidate.
