NKT National College of Education for Women, Chennai Admission Process

NKT National College of Education for Women, Chennai, is an autonomous institution providing teacher education to women. The college is recognized by NCTE-National Council for Teacher Education and is accredited by NAAC. It provides various programs related to education. The admission at NKT National College is highly designed and cuts across various programs in education to find qualified candidates. The merit list system governs the admission. It is based on the marks obtained in qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests. The admission process will comply with the policies of the state government and UT administration as well as university norms. Most of these programs like B.Ed and M.Ed will have selections based on marks obtained at the qualifying examination or entrance test.

Eligibility criteria ultimately differ based on the program. This includes undergraduate programs such as B.Ed, which require candidates to have completed their bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university. Relevant bachelor's degrees in education or related fields are often a requirement for admission into postgraduate programs such as M.Ed. The continuing or initial academic qualifications and cut-offs, if any, would be set by the college according to the regulations of the state and the university.

M.Ed (Master of Education): Admission into the M.Ed program, which has an intake of 50 seats, takes place in the same way as for the B.Ed program, which is by merit of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination or selection through entrance examination or any other method of selection as required by government and university policies.

B.Ed Special Education Visual Impairment: This program with a specialization has been approved for 30 seats. Specific admission details are not stated, but it is assumed that there is a merit-based admission policy similar to the other courses, with possible additional requirements that are unique to special education.
