Classes are held in study centre only where a student gets enrolled, atteding classes is personal choice entirely, it's not compulsory in either of cases, the core difference between DU SOL and IGNOU is study centre of DU SOL are limited in the state only, unlike in case of IGNOU which has regional centre in every states, and study centre function under RC, so you can find study centre/colleges under various district of your state, say you belong to UP there are Regional Centre in Noida/Lucknow/Varanasi etc, you can choose as per your preference, study centre are allotted in IGNOU for assignment submission, conducting term end exams, and if you wish you can attend classes which are held on weekends only, but due to pandemic as I said things are different as of now.

and the reason being IGNOU is the largest open university, but due to the pandemic both the university have started helping students with online education, and this helps in current situation also,

Hello,

It depends you're seeking admission in which course, I mean whether it's graduation level courses or post graduation level courses, first let me start off with DU SOL, it offers undergraduate courses such as BCom/BCom Hons/BA Hons English and Poltical Science/BA Programme for which admission is strictly based on the merit of the qualifiying examination,

amidst postgraduate courses it offers MCom and MA in Hindi, History, Political Science, Sanskrit, in case of pg courses admission is either done through entrance test or its based on the merit of the qualifying examination, in case of former only delhi university students are eligible,

to know more details regarding the eligibility criteria, check out our page at https://university.careers360.com/articles/du-sol-eligibility-criteria

also, you can visit the official website of DU SOL at https://sol.du.ac.in/ for detailed information regarding admission procedure or visit our page at https://university.careers360.com/articles/du-sol-admissions

next, admission in case of IGNOU only certain courses like MBA, BEd, BSc Nursing have their individual entrance tests, other than this for majority of certificate/advanced certificate/diploma/pg diploma/bachelor's degree/master's degree, you just need to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualifications, and admission is direct, you just need to fill in the application form with detailed information, pay the requisite fees, take a print out of few copies of the same for future reference, and within few weeks or months depending upon the regional centre,(as IGNOU receives multitude of applicants, and it does take time to enroll that many candidates), if you have provided all appropriate information along with relevant documents, your admission will surely get confirmed, but it can take time as I said,

Hello,

See, UGC has now allowed candidates to pursue two degree courses simultaneously, provided one is through distance mode and another through distance mode, now whether that's feasible or not is completely dependent on you as firstly what's your motive in pursuing two different degree programs, what are the outcomes you're expecting of these, moreover a well planned schedule is required to do well in both the degree courses, definitely it's not going to be a cakewalk in either of the case, you have to put efforts in giving your best to both the courses,  you must be well aware of what you're required to do in terms of doing practical, appearing for semester/annual exams of BSc degree, as well as submitting assignments and attending term end exams in IGNOU. so analyze all these things before taking any decision,

College Infrastructure

Even though it is a distance learning university, IGNOU has well-furnished regional and study centers. Library facilities are specially great – they have a huge collection of academic books, reference books, and journals. There is Wi-Fi in a few of the centers, and a hygienic cafeteria for students who are on campus for extended periods.

Not so great to be a part of

College Infrastructure

My study center is muralidhar college which is pretty decent college. the college staff was very rude ever since i been there for the first time they were very rude even changed some rules related to studies which they were not meant to.

Good experience, worth it overall.
