Please help me out to understand about the eligibility criteria for PHD Admission. I have completed my Graduation as well as the Masters Degree from IGNOU, New Delhi. Shall I apply for the PHD Program ?

N sayadeevi 10th Dec, 2019

Hello there!

Applying for a PhD. program will only require your field on interest. It will only concern yourself and your surrounding environment. Your Ph.D. is determined from your hard work and dedication. Pursuing a Ph.D. wont be an easy task and requires timeless effort. It needs years of patience and relevant knowledge to your concerned subject. If you really want to go down deep into your own field of interest then its a green light to go for a PhD. If not , if you want to go for a job and settle down as soon as possible then Ph.D. isn't he degree destined for you. If you are still interested in your respective field and would like to still go for higher education and settle down soon in a short while of time, then an M.Phil. degree would be a very good option too. The quality of your Ph.D. or M.Phil degree highly depends on the amount of the heavy job you do on your research. You can also go for teaching or working professors and pursue your Ph.D. sidelined such as the same institution or as well as your degrees from IGNOU itself. Working professors add the advantage of work experience along with a doctorate persuasion. Moreover Working professors will have prevailed knowledge and will often refresh their knowledge. In addition to this if there is any update in the study materials a working professor can easily update themselves according to the new and latest syllabus.

All the very best for your future endeavors.

Aditya kumar Student Expert 9th Dec, 2019
Hello there!

Greetings!

  • Actually, two degree programmes pursued through regular modes is not valid, so one is not allowed to do two regular courses at the same time.

  • But yes one is free to do one course in regular mode and the other one in distance education mode i.e from open universities and that is valid

  • So , yes you can definitely do ba English hons. in regular mode and at the same time you can do ba psychology from ignou as ignou is an open university and thus you will not face any problem.

Always feel free to reach us with your doubts.

Thankyou

If you aren't a graduate yet then choose code 2 as you will come under droppers else you choose code 3. It is for students who have completed their graduation.
