The institute offers admission at PG and doctoral levels. TIFR Mumbai admission process comprises two steps: a written test and an interview. The institute conducts an entrance examination for admission to all courses. An important point is here that TIFR Mumbai conducts a separate exam for the science education courses. JGEEBILS (Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences) is conducted for admission to M.Sc. and Ph.D. Biological Science/ Ph.D. Biological Science at TIFR Mumbai.

See in general, if one have 50% marks in the TIFR GS examination, then its quite confirmed that the student will get a call for the interview. Now every year, the difficulty of the paper change for different subjects and as a result, the cutoff changes. So nothing for sure can't be provided, although you have moderate chances to get the interview call.
