    College Infrastructure

Hostels are good. Everyone is provided with a single sharing room. The rooms are excellent, with an attached bathroom and a balcony as well. We are a small group of students hence we have only 3 classrooms and a computer lab. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the campus. Food is not that great but fine. Food is quite affordable with respect to Bangalore standards.

    Academics

We have 17 faculty members here. Most of them are very helpful and available almost all the time. They are mostly very caring about the students. The coursework is a bit hectic and a bit outdated. But overall, it is an excellent place to study

    Placements

TIFR is a research institute. So there is no scope for companies to come and recruit students here. However, students who completed their studies here, are well settled in academia. Our futures are bright in field of research

Have a question related to TIFR Mumbai ?

Can I join tifr after bsc if I join which exam I prepare and how can I join

You can go to TIFR after your Bachelor's degree. TIFR has combined PhD and regular PhD programs in subjects such as Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Computer Science.

How to get into TIFR after BSc:

    1. Entrance Test:

You need to take the TIFR GS entrance test, which usually happens

There are very benefits you will receive as a scientist and DRDO, ISRO and many other national level organization:

    • Transport allowance
    • Leave travel concession
    • Medical facilities
    • Promotion scheme according to merit
    • Chance of getting higher education from recognised institution
    • High pay salary in the starting
    • Government residence will be provided

See in general, if one have 50% marks in the TIFR GS examination, then its quite confirmed that the student will get a call for the interview. Now every year, the difficulty of the paper change for different subjects and as a result, the cutoff changes. So nothing for sure
