Yes, you can apply for an MA in Sociology at Delhi University after completing your BA English Honours. Here are a few points to keep in mind:

  1. Eligibility : Delhi University generally accepts students from diverse academic backgrounds, including English Honours, for their MA Sociology program. However, some familiarity with sociology may help, as it’s not a part of your BA syllabus.

  2. Entrance Exam : Admission is primarily through the DU entrance exam, which tests knowledge in sociology and general awareness. You may need to prepare by studying basic sociology concepts to do well in the exam.

  3. Preparation : While your BA doesn't directly align with Sociology, you can start reading introductory sociology books and keep up with social issues to prepare for the entrance exam and enhance your understanding.

Hello,

To get admission to Delhi University’s Open Learning (DU SOL) , you do not need to give the CUET exam. DU SOL has its own admission process, which is based on merit (your previous academic marks).

CUET is required for regular courses at Delhi University, not for open learning programs.

Hope it helps !

yes, the admission to engineering courses at Delhi University (DU) is primarily conducted through JEE Main, not through the CUET (Common University Entrance Test).

Earlier, DU used to accept marks from the JEE Main exam for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses. However, the CUET (introduced for admission to undergraduate courses in many universities, including DU, for non-engineering programs) does not replace the requirement for JEE Main for engineering admissions. Therefore, candidates aspiring for engineering courses at DU must appear for JEE Main and not the CUET.

To summarize, for engineering courses at DU:

  • JEE Main scores are required.
  • CUET is used for admissions to other undergraduate programs (like Humanities, Science, Commerce), but not for engineering courses.

For confirmation, it's always a good idea to refer to the official DU website or the admission notice of the specific academic year.
