About Government Medical College, Kozhikode
Government Medical College Kozhikode was established in the year 1957 under the Government of India, by Dr. B. Ramarkrishna Rao, then Governor of Kerala. The college campus is spread over an area of 270 acres. The college was earlier affiliated to the University of Calicut, but now the affiliation has changed to the Kerala University for Health Sciences (KUHS). All the programmes of the institute are approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The main hospital was initially started with 1183 beds, which now has increased to a strength of 3025 beds. The institute started functioning with an intake of 50 students, which has now increased to 250 students. The college offers admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes based on NEET (UG) and NEET (PG) scores respectively.

The nearest airport from the institute is the Kozhikode International Airport which is located 26.4 km away and students can reach the campus in approximately 45 mins. Students also need to register and qualify the All India level counselling conducted to offer admissions to various medical colleges of India based on NEET scores. Government Medical College, Kozhikode also offers admissions to the B.Pharma programme based on KEAM scores and KEAM counselling and to the M.Pharma programme based on GPAT scores and GPAT counselling. For MBBS programme-
Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS programme need to appear and qualify NEET (UG).
Based on the qualifying marks achieved by candidates in NEET (UG), they will have to register themselves for NEET (UG) counselling.
Candidates will register themselves for counselling of NEET (UG) on the official website of NEET along with all required documents and payment of fees.
Candidates need to select Government Medical College, Kozhikode as their first preference while doing the choice locking in the NEET UG counselling.
Candidates will get admission to the MBBS programme based on NEET (UG) counselling, choice filling, choice locking, document verification, merit and fee payment.
For D.M/M.Ch programmes-
Candidates seeking admission to D.M/M.Ch programmes need to appear and qualify NEET SS.

Library- The library of GMC Kozhikode has a huge collection of books from both foreign and indian authors, periodicals and magazines providing necessary information to students and staff regarding any subject or relevant topic.
Lecture Hall- The lecture hall of Government Medical College Kozhikode is provided with modern audio visual teaching aids to provide efficient learning to students. All the important seminars, conferences, meetings etc are conducted inside the lecture hall.
Laboratory- Government Medical College Kozhikode has provided different laboratories for different subjects provided with advanced technology and necessary equipment for conducting practicals and experiments.
Patient Counselling Centre- This centre was developed to guide and provide information by the postgraduate students to the patients related to diseases and the effects of drugs.

Hi,
In my opinion, taking a physiotherapy course you can get a job easily since you can start your own physiotherapist clinic and you can start earning. However you can get a better salary if you take a cardiovascular technology course if you do that course in a resourced institute.

government medical college of Kozhikode is one of the best medical college in India situated at Kerala. It has NIOS ranking of 48. Sonu doubt it is a very good college and have a very high cut off. Each year the cut off changes. In 2019 the closing rank was 1875 and in 2018 it was 676. Hope this will help you
bsc optometry admission starting time in 2020 year
Hello dear student!
BSc. Optometry is a full time 3- year course and is quite good course. The eligibility is passing of the 10th and 12th board examination and then you have to appear in entrance examinations and on that basis admission is done . The application forms are generally released in the month of April and entrace examination is generally in the end of May.

Christ Medical College, Ludhiana provides optometry course as a 3 year bachelor's course. The full course name is Bsc optometry and ophthalmic techniques. It's a three year semester based course, the admission to which does not require NEET UG. The admission may be on the basis of merit list or entrance examination, depends. The student must have passed his class 12th exams with PCB subject combinations and minimum 50% marks. The course involves study and clinical skill development such as measuring eyesight, prescribing correct lenses, detecting eye diseases etc., Hope this helps.
