Katihar Engineering College, established in 2016, is one of the premier institutions located in Katihar, Bihar. This co-educational institute affiliated to Bihar Engineering University offers different engineering programs to aspiring students. The campus is spread over 10 acres, and it has a goal to impart quality technical education. The AICTE-approved college now has a total enrollment of students to the tune of 733 and a faculty strength of 27. KEC runs five B.Tech programs of four-year duration each in different disciplines of engineering.

The facilities provided in the campus are myriad in nature for the all-round development of students. At the very core of academic resources would be a well-stocked library with thousands of books from some of the best publishers around the globe. Students have at their disposal academic books, reference books, journals, and newspapers distributed every morning for making research and study very conducive. The entire campus has been sensitized to Wi-Fi, though plans are underway to integrate into a high-speed network for the new campus under construction. KEC is proud of its well-equipped, modern laboratories that help students to gain practical experience in their fields. The Computer Centre is augmented by about 50 computers associated with various engineering software and smart learning platforms, aided by a projector for better visuals in learning. KEC provides a lively campus environment within the campus. Facilities for sports and cultural activities are available. The annual sports festival is organized to foster the physical development and inculcate team spirit among students. Indoor and outdoor game equipment is provided, encouraging participation in cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, carrom, and chess. These are overseen by the Sports and Cultural Department, which guides the students in keeping a fine balance between mental and physical fitness. 

Katihar Engineering College offers five B.Tech. programs on a full-time basis with an approved intake of 60 students each. The Courses offered are B. Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Food Processing and Preservation. KEC has a total intake of 300 students in all its programs combined and strive to turn out skilled engineers, fully equipped to meet the requirements of the industry. The commitment of the college to comprehensive technical education is reflected in the wide spectrum covered by its course structure.

Katihar Engineering College (KEC) is a premier institute in Katihar, Bihar, which offers multiple engineering programs and a complete admission procedure, setting out to select talented, deserving candidates for its programs. The admission process at KEC is based mainly on merit competitions through the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE), which is being conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

Computer Science and Engineering: This program, with an increased intake of 120 seats, covers software development, data structures, and artificial intelligence. Admission is granted based on scores in BCECE.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering: This program is conducted for 60 seats and includes courses on power systems, control systems, and electronics. Admission is based on performance in the BCECE.

Not too good but campus is very big it is just for digree college type just for show wifi is not for students and all food any thing is not good Not proper management for bihar it is good college. Good environment

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of college is good enough. The academic building build recently in 2019. All classrooms are spacious and lab for all departments are present but right now it's not fully equipped. Overall campus is nice with clean environment. For hostels it's under construction. Our college is new but they managed it really well.
