Sinhgad Institute of Management, Pune has a placement cell that coordinates all the placement activities. It promotes industry-institute interaction so that students are well aware of the various aspects of the corporate world. Companies from varied sectors visited the campus and offered jobs to the candidates meeting their job requirements. SIOM placement cell bridges the gap between the recruiters and the potential candidates of the college. Various training programmes are introduced to the students so that the core skills such as soft skills, technical skills, employability skills, etc get enhanced. Amongst all the skills, the communication skills of the students are emphasised so that they can be more confident and have a great personality as it is highly demanded by the recruiters.
- The placement cell invites the companies via e-mail and interested companies in return get back to the college for further process.
- Firstly placement dates are fixed upon common understanding and agreement of the recruiting companies and the placement team for conduction the campus drive.
- After the dates have been fixed, the SIOM placement schedule is made and the schedule is shared with the students for their reference and they can mark the important dates.
- Candidates who want to be a part of the placement process have to register for participating in the placement drive conducted by different companies.
- The next stage of the Sinhgad Institute of Management placement process consists of shortlisting of candidates. The registered candidates are shortlisted based on the academic requirements as demanded by the recruiters such as a minimum percentage, no backlogs or any other criteria and only candidates who are shortlisted are eligible participating in the further process of the SIOM Pune placement drive.
- Companies have to deliver a pre-placement talk for the students. This formal session is a common platform wherein students are made aware of the basic policies of the company and give an insight into the company. This talk or two-way communication where the company and students can interact helps the students in clearing their doubts regarding the placement.
- After the pre-placement talk test is taken by the companies in order to judge the knowledge, skills and IQ of the students. An aptitude test is conducted by the recruiters to judge the aptitude of the students and ensure that they are experts in problem-solving. Further candidates have to qualify the technical test which is related to the course that is being pursued by the students.
- After qualifying the written round, candidates will further have to participate in Group Discussion. The selected students are given a topic in a group for the Group Discussion and the candidates have to put up their viewpoints and opinion and present their thoughts. Candidates qualifying the GD moves to the Personal Interview round.
- PI is the last stage of the selection process. Candidates have to qualify the interview taken by the companies. The personal interview helps the recruiters to know whether the candidate is suitable for the job or not.
- Finally, the selected students are then offered jobs and are given an offer letter that consists of all the necessary details such as compensation structure, date of joining, code of conduct, etc.
