      SVNIRTAR Cuttack Admission Process

Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) at Cuttack, Odisha, is a premier institute offering courses in rehabilitation training and research.  SVNIRTAR conducts its admission cycle mostly in sync with the academic year, which starts in most cases during the months of August or September. For the undergraduate courses, a Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted jointly by the institute with the National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD), Kolkata. This CET is held on an annual basis for the selection of candidates to the courses: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT), and Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO).

For the postgraduate programmes-Master's in Physiotherapy (MPT), Master's in Occupational Therapy (MOT), and Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MPO)-the SVNIRTAR organises the All-India Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET), which is held under the chairmanship of the Director, SVNIRTAR. Minimum eligibility criteria for SVNIRTAR admission to the undergraduate courses usually require the candidates to have passed the 10+2 examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subject papers. This criterion for postgraduate courses requires candidates to have qualified for the concerned bachelor's degree in the relevant field. They might have different eligibility criteria for each of the programmes, so the candidates are advised to visit the official website for more details.

      SVNIRTAR Admission Process

The application process for SVNIRTAR programmes involves a sequence of steps:

      • Notification: The institute releases SVNIRTAR admission notification for various programmes on its official website and in prominent newspapers.
      • Application Form: Candidates are required to fill in the application form for the desired programme. The form is usually made available on the website or can be collected from SVNIRTAR admission office.
      • Entrance Exam Registration: Undergraduates should register for the Common Entrance Test (CET) jointly conducted with NILD, Kolkata, while postgraduate candidates should register for the All-India Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET).
      • Entrance Exam: Candidates on the mentioned dates appear at the respective entrance exam (CET for UG and PGET for PG).
      • Result Declaration: The entrance examination results are declared.
      • All shortlisted candidates have to report for counselling, where they have to verify their documents and choose their preferred course (in case multiple options are there).
      • Selected candidates have to pay SVNIRTAR admission fee to confirm their admission to the selected programme.
      • Document submission: Candidates should submit all necessary documents, including those for academic qualifications, ID proof, and any other certificates required as per the guidelines laid down by the institute.
      • Medical examination: The candidate may be subjected to a medical examination to ensure that he/she is fit for the demanded programme.
      • Finally, SVNIRTAR admissions will be granted to the candidates for their respective programmes if they successfully complete all of the above steps.

      Academics

The teachers are experts in their own fields . As these fields are quite separated from normal mbbs curriculum, the institute have specific professors to offer those courses . The curriculum is quite updated keeping in view the modern developments for disabled people and developments in Medtech sector.

      College Infra

The college infrastructure is so good and well maintained . Because the college has a small campus and also holds the tag of national institute everything is taken care of. Our classrooms also have all the modern facilities needed for modern day online education also like projectors , white boards , wifi and routers.

      Campus Life

Campus is quite small still has good eating and chilling places . In each semester a new tournament is around the corner with the local Colleges nearby in which our students also participate. The beauty of Cuttack city also make the campus more worthy.

      Placements

The placement scenario depends on the student . If they want government job they can get it easily as there is less competition and more demand . But if they want to go for private sector, there are very few options .that too funding sometimes creates an issue . As this is not a typical medical or engineering College, placements are up to the students only

      Value For Money

The fees is quite affordable for students from middleclass backgrounds. Else student loans are also available in the name of the institute. The course have good return of investment if one gets into govt. Sector after graduation.
