To get admission in MIT in B.Des your daughter need to appear in Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by the institute and to get admission in SID she has to appear in SEED entrance exam conducted by the institute and qualify in it. She cannot get admission in B.Des based on NIFT rank. NIFT rank can be used to get admission in any of NIFT campuses. You have not mentioned the category she belongs to but if 150 is her overall rank then she has decent chances of getting in NIFT in any of its campuses based on previous year cut off. You have not mentinoed if your daughter belong to OBC-NCL or OBC-CL. If she belongs to OBC-CL then she will be considered as general category candidate. And with such rank she may not get seat in any NIFT campus but if she belongs to OBC-NCL she may have chances of getting seat based on 2019 last rank cut off in

This college offers a variety of courses that one can opt for. Great for those who want to explore, experience and do something out of the box. Amidst the cultural richness of Kolkata, this place offers you a whole new experience. Teachers are very experienced and help in every possible way.

If we go through overall then almost every institute holding equal job opportunities, career growth  etc.. but i recommended NIFT Hyderabad because Hyderabad city is well know as hand craft so i hope it is better place to explore yourself .

Only a few seats are offered through UCEED in IITs. Now if you are from general category, then you can expect only IITDMJ. As other IITB and IIT G close within 45 to 50 rank. Now coming to your NIFT rank, it is extremely good. And with this rank, you can expect top campuses of NIFT Like Mumbai, Bangalore and even New Delhi whatever course you choose as you have extremely good rank. So I would suggest you to go for NIFT as there are better chances for you.

Congratulations for your result. It is quite difficult to make an assumption as the cutoffs change every year. I would suggest you to use our College Predictor tool so that you can get an idea where you have good chances http://design.careers360.com/articles/nift-college-predictor You haven't mentioned your rank, so considering you as a general category candidate, it will be difficult to get into the top 5 NIFT campuses. However, you can expect NIFT Kangra, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar. But this based on last year's data and this year the cutoff might change.

Hello student cut off vary every year on various factors like the level of question in the entrance examination and total number of applicants in that examination. It's difficult to get admission in top 5 nift campus as the number of seats are very limited (598).

This year due to corona pandemic the admission process has been changed for NIFT 2020 for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The situation test is cancelled and the final results will be given based on marks scored by the candidate in written test (CAT/GAT) for B.Des. CMR or Common Merit Rank is your rank in Common Rank List. This list consists of all category students. And General rank is your category rank. Now you belong to general category. If someone belongs to SC category then his/her category rank would be SC rank. Both the ranks are equally important. Based on your rank and previous year's data, you can expect NIFT Patna, Bhubaneswar, Kangra. However, the cutoffs change every year and this is based on previous years' analysis.

No, you can get admission in any of NIFT campuses only through entrance exam. You need to appear in NIFT entrance exam and score minimum qualifying marks to be eligible to participate in counselling. You must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board for apparel designing you must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. You cannot get admission based on 10+2 marks.
