A 12-month, AICTE-approved, part-time, modular programme specifically designed for professionals working in the development sector. The programme aims to significantly enhance the effectiveness of development organisations by building the management capacity of their staff. It covers functional management knowledge and skills tailored to the unique challenges and contexts of the development sector, including areas such as governance, public policy, and sustainability. The curriculum combines classroom sessions, fieldwork, and practical project work.

Course Duration: 12 months (part-time, modular structure).

PGPDM fee structure

The programme is subsidised since it is part of the social commitment of the institute and, therefore, affordable and feasible for working people.

I. Participants sponsored by corporates / international NGOs and high-income candidates:

₹ 3,00,000 (Three lakh only) + GST as applicable.

Payment terms: In advance – 2 options

  • Full payment ₹ 3,00,000 + GST as applicable
  • Term-wise payment: ₹ 1,00,000 + GST as applicable x 3 Terms

II. Participants from NGOs or those who are self-sponsored

₹1,50,000 + GST Payment options

Payment options:

  • Full payment of ₹1,50,000 + GST
  • Term-wise: ₹50,000 + GST per term (x 3 terms)
  • Instalments: Six equal instalments of ₹.25,000 + GST before the start of every contact. First instalment required for admission confirmation. Post-dated cheques for the remaining 5 instalments to be submitted on reporting day.

III. Discount in fee

  • A discount of ₹10,000 per candidate for two or more participants from the same NGO.

Eligibility Criteria

- Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.
- A minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience in the development sector. This includes experience in NGOs, Foundations, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) departments, Social Enterprises, Government Development Agencies, and related entities.

Admission Details

SPJIMR operates a rolling admission process for the PGPDM, with usually two intakes per year. The procedure typically involves:
- Online application form submission, accompanied by specified documents and a non-refundable application fee.
- A thorough evaluation of the candidate's profile, including academic qualifications and relevant work experience in the development sector.
- Submission of an essay outlining the applicant's motivations for joining the programme and their career goals within the development sector.
- A personal interview (conducted online).
Selection emphasises the applicant's commitment to the development sector, relevant experience, and overall suitability.
