48 MonthsSPJIMR's doctoral programme, equivalent to a PhD in management, designed for scholars aiming for careers in academia, research, and consulting. It offers specialisations across various management domains, including Marketing, Finance, Operations, Information Management, Organisational Behaviour, Economics, and Business Policy. The programme involves rigorous coursework, comprehensive examinations, and culminates in a doctoral thesis based on original research. It emphasises both theoretical foundations and practical relevance, preparing candidates to be thought leaders and contributing significantly to management knowledge.
FPM full-time at SPJIMR is a fully-funded residential programme. Every scholar admitted to the full-time programme receives a stipend for the first four years of the programme. FPM part-time is a non-residential programme, and the total fee for the programme is ₹ 12 lakhs.

Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s Degree / equivalent in any discipline with First Class or equivalent Grade Point (or) five-year / four-year Integrated Master’s Degree with First Class or equivalent GPA (or) professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA, or CS with minimum 55% marks.
- Valid scores from CAT / GMAT / GRE / GATE / ATMA / UGC-NET / UGC-JRF.
- Alternatively, the applicant may be exempted from submitting the entrance exam scores if they hold a PGDM / MBA from SPJIMR, MDI, IIMs, IIT Management Departments, XLRI, IRMA, TISS, ISI, XIMB, FMS, or IIFT.
- Candidates, both fresh graduates and experienced professionals, can apply if they demonstrate the motivation and background to pursue a rigorous research programme.
Admission Details
- To apply for the FPM Programme, applicants must fill the application form on the online admissions portal available in the SPJIMR website.
- In addition to the application form, you will be required to submit the following:
- A valid CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/ATMA/UGC-NET/UGC-JRF score
- A statement of purpose stating why the applicant wants to pursue the programme
- An indication and elaboration of research interests
- Three letters of recommendation, including at least one academic recommendation
