Course Overview

The edX Solar Energy online course explains the basics of photovoltaic aspects, solar energy, and conduction physics. Through this course, learners can design solar cells and understand the optics needed to do so. Spread over 12 weeks, the course is set at an advanced level and covers engineering subjects.

The Solar Energy: Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Conversion course is taught by professors from the  Delft University of Technology or TU Delft. The programme requires an effort of at least ten hours each week to complete it successfully. Learners can access the course materials with limited tests and discussions to augment their learning process.

Moreover, by paying a fee to receive a verified certificate, students also receive tools for experimentation and have unlimited access to materials and graded tests. The video transcripts are scheduled for the Solar Energy: Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Conversion course by edX and are in English. Corporate packages are also available for enterprises. The course provides two enrollment modes; paid and free. In the paid mode, the candidates will have unlimited access to the course and a certificate of completion whereas in the free audit mode, they will be given access only for a limited period.
