Hello,
For IGNOU in 2024, the start date for attending classes typically depends on the academic calendar and the specific program you are enrolled in. IGNOU usually begins its academic sessions in January and July. Classes for the January session generally start in February or March, while classes for the July session usually commence in August or September.
It's best to check your specific program's schedule or contact your study center for the exact start date of classes in 2024.
Hope it helps !
Hello,
Yes, IGNOU's 10+2 equivalence is generally recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). IGNOU’s Secondary and Senior Secondary programs are designed to be equivalent to the traditional 10th and 12th grade certifications from other boards in India.
Hope it helps !
Hello,
Yes, IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) has introduced 4-year undergraduate (UG) degree programs in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines .
The NEP 2020 encourages flexibility in undergraduate programs, allowing students to opt for a 4-year UG degree with Honours or Research components. IGNOU has adapted its curriculum to provide this structure. Now, students can choose between a 3-year degree or a 4-year Honours degree. Here's how it generally works:
1. 3-Year UG Program: Students who want to complete a regular Bachelor's degree (like BA, BSc, BCom) can complete it in three years.
2. 4-Year UG Honours Program: Students opting for the 4-year program can pursue a Bachelor with Honours or Bachelor with Research if they wish to delve deeper into their field of study.
This provides flexibility for students to complete their degree at their own pace, in line with IGNOU's open and distance learning model.
Hope it helps !
Hey there! I'm really sorry to hear you're having such a tough time with your IGNOU admission. That must be so stressful, especially after waiting for over two months without any update. I totally get why you're losing sleep over this - I'd be really worried too if I were in your shoes.
I can't directly access IGNOU's systems or anything. But I want to help if I can. Have you tried reaching out to IGNOU's admissions office directly? Sometimes a phone call can get things moving faster than waiting for an online update.
If you haven't already, you could also try checking your application status on the IGNOU website. Sometimes there are updates there that don't get sent out as notifications.
If you're still stuck, maybe we could try to find some contact information for IGNOU's admissions team together? Or I could ask around here at Careers360 to see if anyone has dealt with similar issues before and might have some advice.
Hang in there, okay? I know it's rough, but we'll figure this out. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help or if you just need someone to talk to about this. We're here for you!
Unfortunately, directly enrolling into TY BCom through IGNOU without completing TY BCom from SPPU might not be feasible.
IGNOU generally follows a structured program progression. While they offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, it's unlikely that they have a direct entry point into the second year of a specific course.
However, you do have options:
It's crucial to consult with IGNOU's admission office to get accurate and up-to-date information. They can guide you on the best possible course of action based on your specific circumstances.
Remember, planning and exploring all available options is essential to continue your education without significant setbacks.
Hello Unnati!!

For the most accurate and detailed information, including how much you might get back, check the IGNOU website or contact your regional center for a straight answer. They will be able to better guide you depending on their current policies and procedures.
Thankyou!!
Hey there I am glad to help you out i hope this helps you
According to the latest RCI guidelines, while a four-year degree is typically required for clinical psychology, a three-year BA from IGNOU can still be beneficial for advanced programs. However, due to NEP and RCI's updated standards, students with a three-year degree might need extra qualifications.
Currently, IGNOU or RCI hasn't announced a specific bridge course to address this. This uncertainty is causing concern among students, and there's a growing need for such a course. Many are advocating for it to make the transition smoother.
If you plan to pursue further studies or RCI licensing, consider additional certifications or directly pursuing an M.Phil or Ph.D. from an RCI-recognized institution. Stay updated through IGNOU or RCI announcements for any future bridge course developments.

Yes, you are eligible to sit for the SSC (Junior Hindi Translator) exam even if you did not study Hindi in your B.A. or M.A. in English.
The SSC JHT exam evaluates a candidate's proficiency in Hindi and English. While having studied Hindi in your previous degrees can be beneficial, it is not a strict requirement. As long as you meet the general eligibility criteria for the exam (such as educational qualifications and age limits), you can apply and appear for it.
However, it's advisable to prepare thoroughly for the Hindi language section of the exam. You might want to consider taking Hindi language courses or practicing Hindi grammar and vocabulary to enhance your skills.

Yes, IGNOU 10+2 equivalence is recognized by both the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). This means that IGNOU 10+2 certificate is considered equivalent to other state and central boards' 10+2 certificates for further studies and job purposes in India.
Even though it is a distance learning university, IGNOU has well-furnished regional and study centers. Library facilities are specially great – they have a huge collection of academic books, reference books, and journals. There is Wi-Fi in a few of the centers, and a hygienic cafeteria for students who are on campus for extended periods.
My study center is muralidhar college which is pretty decent college. the college staff was very rude ever since i been there for the first time they were very rude even changed some rules related to studies which they were not meant to.
It is an open university so we don't have ani specific building as our college. but the study center where we are elected to was nice. The faculty was nice too. clean classrooms, good professors and staff.
