Ahmedabad Institute of Hospitality Management (AIHM) is a relatively new institute located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The institute offers three Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programmes, with unique specialisations. Ahmedabad Institute of Hospitality Management admission process is performance-oriented wherein various nationwide entrance exams are accepted for a mix of diverse and meritorious students.
Usually, Ahmedabad Institute of Hospitality Management admission process kicks off with the announcement of the entrance exam dates, followed by accepting CRA scores from a variety of tests-cum-conferences. Tests accept several ranges of scores from CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, and GMAT. Therefore, the range of entrance exams helps candidates to fight more for a chance at admission. Generally, the entrance exam scores serve as the first screening tool in the admission process, with further rounds being followed.
The eligibility criteria are that an Ahmedabad Institute of Hospitality Management candidate for PGDM has to be one who completed a bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised university. Specific percentage requirements are not stated for the criteria per se, whereas the candidate is expected to maintain a good academic standing.
Follow the following general steps to apply for PGDM programmes at AIHM:
The institute provides 3 PGDM courses for the students:
PGDM in Financial Management is a full-time course for two years and the intake is 60 students. Admission is based on scores from CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, or GMAT. The shortlisted candidates may have to attend further rounds of selection, i.e., group discussions and personal interviews.
PGDM in Hospitality Management has an intake of 60 students for this programme and has been following the same admission process as the Financial Management course. The candidate should possess a bachelor's degree plus a valid score in any of the accepted entrance exams.
PGDM in Marketing and Sales Management programme, too, has an intake of 60 students and follows an entry-by-exam-based admission process where entrance exams scores act as the first benchmark.
In the case of the above three PGDM courses, the scores obtained by them in the entrance examination are an important factor in the first round of shortlisting. The next set of processes will include group discussions and personal interviews, where the general eligibility of the candidate for that programme will be assessed.
All candidates must bring their academic and identity documents for admission.
The PGDM in Hospitality Management focuses on both theoritical knowledge and practical skills. The faculty is knowledge and supportive. Compared to other colleges, the academic quality is good but not top tier.
