IIM Kozhikode Admission Process

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode admissions are provided to MBA and Ph.D programmes in the field of management. Candidates are shortlisted for Written Ability Test and a Personal Interview round as per the IIM Kozhikode PGP admissions process. Students must fulfil the IIM Kozhikode eligibility criteria to apply for the courses. IIM Kozhikode admission to the Ph.D programme is done based on the GMAT/GRE/CAT/GATE/JRF(NET)/IIMB Test examination scores.

How can I apply for IIM Kozhikode Admission?

Visit the official website of the institute.
Candidates have to download and fill out the application form with all the necessary details.

Ph.D students can apply for two areas of research and the application fee varies accordingly.

MBA	Candidates must pass a bachelor's degree with a minimum 60% score. Candidates must have an 85% score in the CAT examination.

IIM Kozhikode MBA Admission Process

Students have to appear and qualify the CAT examination.
IIM Kozhikode will declare the CAT cutoff percentage.
Students who meet the cutoff declared by IIM Kozhikode can fill out the application form on the official website of the institute.
Further, students have to appear for an Written Ability Test and Personal Interview.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on the student's performance in the WAT and PI.

IIM Kozhikode Ph.D Admission Process

Candidates must qualify the GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC-JRF/IIMB Test to be eligible for IIITA Doctorate admissions.
Eligible candidates have to apply on the official website of the institute.
Based on their entrance score candidates are called for the area-specific test and personal interview.
Students applying for Economics specialisation should clear a IIMK written test along with the interview.
Students will be selected on the basis of their past academic performance, written test and personal interview performance conducted by the Institute.
Candidates selected need to deposit course fees and submit the documents to confirm their admission.

Academics

Teachers at IIMK for the MBA program were well qualified and knowledgeable. The quality of the teaching offered at our college was good. The professors at the college were supportive and helpful to the students. Both permanent and guest faculty were available at the college. The course curriculum of the college was relevant. Semester exams at the college were not that tough to pass.

Academics

Teachers are excellent and knowledgeable. With IIMK Alumni becoming part of Board of Director, courses are aligned with industry. There is a consulting, entrepreneurship workshop. Course end projects which are part of course evaluation are very relevant and good to understand concepts.

Three teachers have all acquired their experiences and Ph.D. from eminent institutions. There are case based discussions to make the course structure relevant for the students. It makes the student aware of the business problems they are going to handle in their upcoming corporate assignments.

What is the main difference between IIMA and IIMK?

Hello,

The main differences between IIMA and IIMK are as follows-

IIMA was established in 1961, while IIMK was in 1996
IIMA has been accorded NIRF Ranking 1 while IIMK with NIRF Ranking of 4
The course fee structure in IIMK was Rs 20.50 Lakhs while that of in IIMA it's Rs 23 Lakhs for a duration of two years for MBA program. the eligibility criteria for the same has been passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized board with 50% aggregate in case of IIMK, and for IIMA there is requirement of 60% aggregate at graduation level,
When it comes to the placements, in case of IIMK the highest salary has been 46.88 Lakhs while for IIMA it has been 82 Lakhs,
The placement has been 100% in both the institutions, while McKinsey has been top recruiters for IIMA with 30 offers, for IIMK the top recruiters has been Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Microsoft to name a few.

How good is IIM Kozhikode's 2 years PGP finance course as compared to traditional PGP course in terms of placements? Placement report not available for this particular course at IIM Kozhikode's site. Also which is better PGP Finance from Kozhikode or PGP from IIM Shillong?

PGP Finance is a much newer 2 Year Management Programme at IIMK. Incase you are interested in pursuing an MBA with Specialization in Finance, you may opt for this course.

Hello,

Yes, not only IIM Kozhikode but every IIM gives weightage to academics and not only academics but they also give weightage on gender diversity, academic diversity, and even your work experience matters a lot. Have look at the shortlisting pattern of IIM Kozhikode for PI round

1. CAT score conducted by the IIMs itself- 45 percent

2. Class 10th marks- 25 percent

3. Class 12th marks- 15 percent

4. Gender/ Academic diversity- 10 percent

5. Prior work experience- 5 percent, Total 100 percent.
