Candidates seeking admission to B.E/B.Tech courses should have complied with the norms prescribed by the Government of Tamilnadu. The norms would be the marks secured in the higher secondary board examinations and the marks obtained from competitive exams such as TNPCEE/CET. H.Sc, Academic, and Vocational students should possess an aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry and Vocational subjects put as required in the Anna University counseling from time to time. H.Sc Academic and Vocational students is an aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry and Vocational subjects put together should be:

• General Category- 50%, 
• BC including BCM- 45%,
• MBC & DNC- 40%,
• SC/SCA/ST- Just Pass

Lateral Entry Admission-

A pass with prescribed eligibility marks in any one of the Diploma in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent prescribed for admission to the Degree course. B.Sc Candidates:

A pass with prescribed eligibility marks in any recognized Bachelors Degree in Science of minimum 3 years duration with 10+2+3 years pattern with Mathematics as one of the core subjects at degree level.).

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the following categories:

Candidates belonging to SC/ST:

Fill in the proforma as given in Annexure III and have it attested by a competent authority (The list of authorities empowered for the same is given in Annexure III).

For candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Fill in the CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY (proforma given in Annexure III).

These documents should be produced at the time of counseling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.

In case, the mark statement is not produced by the candidates at the time of admission, the decision of the Management regarding his/her eligibility and admission to the programme shall be final.

Even though the admission is done as per the VITEEE ranking, the candidate has to fulfill the eligibility norms mentioned.

Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree Programmes.

Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bioengineering and B.Tech. Biotechnology programmes. They are also eligible for ECE with specialization in Biomedical Engineering, B.Tech. Computer Science and Engg (Spec.in Bioinformatics) but after joining, registering for Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.

Age Limit:

Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1 st July are eligible to apply for VITEEE. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counseling, failing which, they will be disqualified. Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as on 1st July of the admission year.
