Hi Sirjana,
I appreciate how clear you’ve been. Yes, you can still apply for Diploma in Mechanical Engineering after passing 10th you don’t necessarily need to pass 12th for polytechnic diploma courses. Since you’re considering management quota, colleges may have some flexibility with deadlines. I'd recommend visiting nearby private polytechnic colleges directly or checking their websites most colleges keep a management quota admission window open longer than government counseling
Thank you
Hii,
Yes, you can. Polytechnic diploma in Mechanical Engineering requires only 10th pass. You don’t need to clear 12th for this course. Many private polytechnic colleges offer direct admissions under management quota without any entrance. You just need to provide your 10th marksheet, transfer certificate (TC), and ID proof. It’s advisable to choose a college approved by AICTE so that later you can apply for B.Tech through lateral entry. Also, management seats might cost more, but admissions stay open longer than in government counseling. So yes, even if you couldn’t pass 12th, diploma is a good option.
Hope you will find it helpful!
Yes ,it is possible to get admission through mangement quota for mechanical engineering. Addmissions are still open for diploma course, addmission process is going on till August end.

Hello,
Yes, in most cases, you can correct this during the document verification or counselling round. If you have valid proof of being in the OBC category and the certificate is issued as per government norms, present it at the time of verification. Some counselling authorities allow category correction if it’s supported with documents. However, it’s essential to carry both original and photocopies of your category certificate. Also, keep checking the official counselling guidelines to see if an email or correction request can be raised in advance.
Thank you!

Hi,
In MHT CET (CAP), there are two types of ranks state General Merit Rank (SGMR) and Home University Rank (HU Rank). Since you want admission within your home university like in Nagpur University, Mumbai University, etc., the Home University Rank (14,000) is the one that will matter the most during CAP Round 1 & 2.
Colleges under your home university reserve a certain percentage of seats for HU candidates, and those are filled using the Home University Rank.So don’t worry about your state rank (1.4 lakh) too much, because for your preferred location, HU rank is more important. Just make sure you apply on time and choose the right preference order.

Hey Atharva:)
Thanks for reaching out!
With 54 percentile in MHT CET, you have a fair chance of getting branches like Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering in private or lower-tier engineering colleges across Maharashtra. Highly demanded branches like CSE,IT,or AI will be tough at this percentile unless you belong to a reserved category or consider low-demand private colleges.
You can also explore niche branches like Food Tech or mining in some private institutions.
To improve your chances, fill maximum choices during Counselling and participate in all rounds.
