Preferred over IIT...! but no good campus life as it's new...! now section based only on JEE adv. rank...! good placement ..!! it has internship with JPL NASA! so it's good place for those who wanna make their career in space...or wanna be a space scientist.

Many labs are there. many project is being going with international collaboration. New place, New things which i am learning, makes my life enjoyable. basically we have been absorbed by isro. every facilities have been provided in the college. we have common room, we also have indoor games in our hostel. there are many exceptional professors in our college. many have done research in foreign. in our college student enough. here each student get the attention of the professors. Basically we are on scholarship. so it is affordable.

The infrastructure of the campus is good.some buildings are still in construction.the college should increase exposure for students by bringing different companies for placements other than ISRO centres.I am disappointed only about the placements as unlike the other colleges many companies will not visit the college for recruiting into their companies.Only source of employment is into the ISRO centres and those who are not able to get into it have to look into their future by their own.

Pretty good place to study the basics of Space Science. Decent courses, facilities, infrastructure and teaching staff. Located in the beautiful city of Trivandrum, God's own country of Kerala. The idea of such an institute was mooted keeping in mind the need for high quality manpower for the Indian Space Research Organization, one of world’s leading scientific organizations engaged in space research and space applications. The institute is the first of its kind in the country, to offer high quality education at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral levels on areas with special focus to space sciences, space technology and space applications. IIST was formally inaugurated on 14 September 2007 by Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, the then Chairman, ISRO and was temporarily housed in the premises of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, very close from where ISRO built and launched its first rocket.

The institute is really a potential store for ISRO's great success. It nurtures the talent, refurbished them so good that the country gets the best scientists/engineers. It also organizes Asia's largest Techno-Astro fest. Pretty good syllabus and organized study structure.
