Preferred over IIT...! but no good campus life as it's new...! now section based only on JEE adv. rank...! good placement ..!! it has internship with JPL NASA! so it's good place for those who wanna make their career in space...or wanna be a space scientist.

The infrastructure of the campus is good.some buildings are still in construction.the college should increase exposure for students by bringing different companies for placements other than ISRO centres.I am disappointed only about the placements as unlike the other colleges many companies will not visit the college for recruiting into their companies.Only source of employment is into the ISRO centres and those who are not able to get into it have to look into their future by their own.

Pretty good place to study the basics of Space Science. Decent courses, facilities, infrastructure and teaching staff. Located in the beautiful city of Trivandrum, God's own country of Kerala. The idea of such an institute was mooted keeping in mind the need for high quality manpower for the Indian Space Research Organization, one of world’s leading scientific organizations engaged in space research and space applications. The institute is the first of its kind in the country, to offer high quality education at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral levels on areas with special focus to space sciences, space technology and space applications. IIST was formally inaugurated on 14 September 2007 by Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, the then Chairman, ISRO and was temporarily housed in the premises of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, very close from where ISRO built and launched its first rocket.

The institute is really a potential store for ISRO's great success. It nurtures the talent, refurbished them so good that the country gets the best scientists/engineers. It also organizes Asia's largest Techno-Astro fest. Pretty good syllabus and organized study structure.

It's satisfactory. More than enough in most cases. Much better than most other colleges. Feels lucky to be a student here. Even though it's located in a distant land the education and the faculties provided by the institute is so good that it feels nice.

My college is for everyone who has an interest in space science. AS a former chancellor, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam sir has given proper direction to this institution and the institution is leading forward on the path of success. As a first year student, I enjoyed all events like Space Up, Dhanak, Conscentia (the largest tech fest of Kerala) and a lot more. I think it is giving a proper platform to enthusiastic young bright minds to lead from the front in the field of space science and technology.

IIST is a place for the intellect and innovation. In here you can spread the wings of your imagination begin your flight towards space, literally. College life is miscellaneous. Ranging from dancing, Ka-ra-te, swimming, to fun science projects. We have two festivals Dhanak: the cultural festival and Conscientia: the tech festival. These bring a new chaotic in the life of the campus. Being under the wing of India's prestigious space organisation, ISRO; IIST is making quite a significant progress of space education by providing full industrial exposure to its students.

My happiest phase in life were my engineering college days. It is here where you are given freedom to do all the mischievous things which you would never had thought of doing. Despite of the learning pressure and demand of improvement, an engineer is able to relish the happiest moments of the life. Infrastructure at its best. And the sports are the one which made me survive. We always complained about the rules posed on us by the Admin.

Its best in its own department. This college has its own importance. The courses which are provided here are solely dedicated towards the study related to space. SPACE which is itself very interesting and so is the college. The faculties are the best in india and to be very frank I am lucky to be a part of IIST.
