Hello,
Eligibility criteria for MS in astronomy and astrophysics in IIST -
A BTech, an MSc, or any other degree with a comparable value in the appropriate discipline is required.
Admission Process -
Thank You
Hello,
There are several ways to join ISRO as a scientist besides JEE Mains or Advanced. The fact is that ISRO directly hires students from IITs and IISC, making it simpler for you to get into ISRO if you attend one of these institutions. You would still be qualified for a position with ISRO if you studied engineering at any other reputable institution. You will need to study hard and gain the necessary information to be as productive as an IITian. To join ISRO as an engineering graduate, you must pass the admission test held by ISRO. ICRB (centralised Recruitment Board) conducts the test, and the GATE exam is also used for recruitment.
If you visit their official website, you may get a better sense of the eligibility standards and other specifications. If you didn't pass the JEE examinations, it's no issue; just get an engineering degree from a reputable university and start preparing for these entrance tests concurrently.
Good Luck!!
Hey Aspirant,
There is no separate entrance test for admission into IIST. You can get into the institute based on your JEE Advanced rank only.
Hope this is useful.
Dear aspirant!
Hope you are doing well !
Programme in Physical Sciences is through the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) and Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) followed by an interview (of those candidates who are short-listed) at IISc.
Hope it helps you !!
Thanking you!!
That would be challenging because applicants for the B.Tech programme at IIST must have completed senior secondary school with an average MINIMUM of 75% marks from a recognised board and must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, a language, and a different fifth topic.
The candidates selected in the course are based on the both 10+2 merits and JEE Advanced scores.
Check out the link below for further information:
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is a Government Deemed to be University which is UGC approved and NAAC accredited. The institute has association with the ISRO. Now no course is there which can be done after BSc Physics course, although, if you complete the MSc in Physics course after that you can do the MTech or PhDcourse at IIST by qualifying the GATE examination.

Hello Aspirant,
Cutoff varies every year depending on various factors. Keep in mind that your chances to grab a seat will vary on the following basis:
From the below link you can get more details, opening-closing rank for aerospace engineering in IIST:

Hope this will help you.
Best wishes.
Hello Aspirant,
Congratulations for your result. It is quite difficult to predict the exact rank as the trends changes every year because it depends on many factors like number of students appeared, shift, toughness, etc.
But we can predict your result based on the previous trends. With 63 percentile your CRL-AIR will be around 378510 - 425500 and your SC rank will be around 26k+. You can verify your rank by using our rank predictor tool which is given below:
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
In order to get a seat in NITs, you need to score at least 9k - 10k SC rank, or 85 percentile as per past year trends.
Thus, with 63 percentile, chances are very low for NITs that too in engineering physics branch.
If you want to check the chances of getting a college, you can go through our college predictor link which is given below:
Thank you and all the best for your future.
Dear aspirant hope you are doing well.....
