Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Physics Hons is a full-time three-year undergraduate degree course offered by the University of Delhi, Delhi.

The Department of Physics is one of the oldest Departments of Hindu College. It has made a significant contribution to the growth and the development of the College as an Institution. The principal aim of an educational institution is to transform the young minds into enlightened individuals. The Physics Department has always emphasized adherence to high ethical values within the academic community of students and teachers. The Teacher-Student relationship has seen a paradigm shift over the years. Teachers are not only the 'Mentors', but also the 'Friends', on whom students can depend in an hour of need. With a committed and a highly accomplished faculty, vibrant environment for innovations and excellent performance record of the students, the Department attracts the brightest of students from 10+2 stream.

The Department faculty members, with specializations in different areas of Physics, place great emphasis on teaching as well as research work. The Department has two well-maintained laboratories which are being upgraded every year with the latest equipment. It has a computer laboratory equipped with the latest facilities. In addition, the Department has research labs in which the students can carry out their project work, play around with the concepts of Physics, give shape to their innovative ideas and exhibit their creative skills. Classrooms and Labs of the Department are equipped with projectors for efficient and hi-tech teaching. The Department has highly qualified and dedicated faculty, some of whom are working on different research projects and are also engaging students in research work. The faculty members have research papers and well-written articles, in renowned journals, to their credit. They have been contributing immensely to the corporate life of the College. Many of them are actively involved in the Administrative work of the Institution.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have passed in 10+2 with the relevant subject. And The overall percentage in 3 subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics should be 55% and one compulsory language should be 50%.

Admission Details

The admissions to colleges of the University of Delhi are based on merit/entrance criteria depending on the course selected by an aspiring student.
Applicants seeking admission to UG merit-based programmes/courses & UG entrance test based must register on a centralized admission Web Portal.
Online Registration: The applicants seeking admission to UG merit-based programme/course must register through online registration,
Cut-offs: The applicants must check the centralized Admission Web Portal and the college website for detailed cut-offs for different programmes/courses.
Selection of Programmes: The applicants who meet the requisite cut-off should log in to the UG admission portal using their registration account and select college/programme where the applicant wishes to take admission and meets the desired cutoff criterion.
Verification of documents: The applicant shall take the print out of the admission/registration form and together with the list of documents/certificates, proceed to the respective college for verification of mark-sheet/certificates, calculation of cut-off percentage depending on the programme/course.
Approval of admission: The College will retain the original certificates of an approved applicant in order to avoid multiple admissions. The certificates will remain with the colleges during the admission process. After this, the college will approve the admission on the UG admission portal. However, the colleges shall promptly return the documents in case the student withdraws/cancels the admission or student wishes to appear in counselling of any other university/ institute.
Online payment of admission fee: The applicant will then be required to log-in to the UG admission portal to make the online admission fee payment through the available online payment options. The approved applicant is permitted to make online admission fee payment till 12 noon of the next day of the last day of admission.

College Infrastructure

Hindu college campus is spread over 25 acres with all modern educational and recreational facilities. It has a large auditorium and a seminar hall. It has well-maintained gardens with flooded greeneries in its campus. Hindu College Hostel facilities are available for boys and girls separately.
