Get Better Career Opportunity with UPES Dehradun

Posted on 05 Apr' 19 by Rahul Gupta
Batch of 2019 | MBA Aviation Management
I am currently pursuing MBA Aviation Management at UPES – University of Petroleum and Energy Studies. What a university! It has taught me so much in the last 1 year. I love Dehradun and the weather is amazing! Away from the city and bustling crowd and free of pollution. Such a great study environment. The infrastructure of the university is highly impressive and there all facilities available. UPES is without a doubt one of the best things that ever happened to me. The faculty is extremely helpful and have been helping me whenever I’m confused. I also got to witness the placement of my seniors and got to know about the alumni. UPES has 96% placement record and was recently rated QS 5Stars for employability. There are many Fortune 500 companies that hire from UPES. Apart from that, there are also plenty of clubs, events and societies that keep students engaged in co-curricular activities. Overall, the 1 year I spent at UPES has been extraordinarily phenomenal and I’m looking forward to my final year here.

The college life here in UPES has been great. I can proudly say to be an UPESite. But, there are a lot of restrictions due to which we are unable to interact very much with our heads and teachers as well as seniors. One of the big things about the college has been the Discipline Committee which has very strict rules and regulations about almost everything. There is a compulsion for wearing uniforms also. This was "changed" by making one day of every month a "CASUALS DAY". I would say that the college is great, but some changes in the college can make it better and probably the best. Else, I'm happy with my college life.

The school is great, everything is brilliant yet the resources are unsupportive in nature. The school is eager for money...The school falls flat the understudies and takes cash for a retest. Understudies need to down themselves before educators. Bad experience of four years... in any case, the school is magnificent position is an excellent..the just issue is the resources. The personnel, the nature of training conveyed by them is valuable and up to the stamp. The earth too adds to the magnificence of the training here. Also, the best thing about the school condition is that you won't hear a solitary horn clamor when you're on the grounds. Education, as well as this school adds to the co-curricular and general advancement of the understudy by arranging numerous meetings, occasions and board dialogs. One can know the shrouded parts of himself/herself by taking an interest in such occasions. Presently going to the things that the school isn't that great at. Above all else, the fests. 2 yearly fests i.e. Uurja and Touch off are sorted out by the school which are bad and fabulous when contrasted with different universities. UPES has given me extraordinary learning stage which helped me a great deal in the business where I am working right at this point. We had different sort of class and workshops for our specific courses. Cherish all of you for making my chance all the more valuable at UPES.

Let me start off with the most basic question that pops up in your mind, i.e. “how good are placements there?” Now this might come as a surprise to you, I AM SURE since you asked this question, but placements are not totally upto the performance of the student and not on the university. Yes the university counts in the placement record too but that is only for inviting Companies in the university. Since the day I stepped in this college I knew that these 4 years of my life won’t be full of enjoyment. Yes, the moment I stepped in, I was scolded for not wearing tie, school all over again. Then in the beginning all the juniors were put to Personality development classes for 3 Days to enhance the speaking and interacting skills of students. The discipline here quite extraordinary and sometimes quite irritating, but that’s solely depending to your point of view. If I had to sum up my review in simple words I would say, If you see yourself becoming as not just an engineer but also as a better and disciplined human being. JOIN UPES!

Batch of 2021 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering with Specialization in Big Data in Academic Collaboration with Xebia
College life here is very amazing! People are here from different areas of the whole nation. The environment here is very studious but the main energy rises at times of college events and fests like UURJA and Ignite, along with various International MUNs. I am in a new branch, Big Data which is very exciting to work in. I have been in interaction with several languages to work on in computers, which feels great. I do not live in the college hostel, which has its own cons as we do not get to sleep in our rooms during lecture breaks! At the end, I would like to say, the college is magnificent in its own ways and I am having a great time here.
