KBC: The 13 Qs that helped Sushil bag 5 crores!

SUSHIL  KUMAR says with humility that most of the questions in the Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) game show, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, were similar to the ones asked in Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), the competitive exam he was preparing for. Though the 27-year-old claims he did not do any special preparation, his acumen and approach to answering questions shows that education and diligence never lets you down.

Take for instance the answer to the 7th question (see below). "I am preparing for BPSC and since I opted for Hindi as an optional paper, I have read about this interesting play Andher Nagri by Bharatendu Harishchandra,” he said.

Or take the answer to the 13th and final question, where he banks on his knowledge of modern Indian history: “Italians never came to India during that period and French had not left by then”.

Eliminating the above two options, he took the last life-line (double-dip: that gives a choice of two answers), and created history. The success story of this computer operator and tutor from Champaran, whose monthly income is Rs 6,000 is a great motivator to millions who toil for the Civil Services Exam. Getting on to the hot seat at KBC involves a certain amount of luck, but with the knowledge that one gains over time, it is possible to achieve what seems so distant.

We present the 13 winning questions. Do you have the answers?
