To get admission through TANCET 2021, candidates have to appear for the written test which will be conducted in offline mode at various centres across Tamil Nadu. For MCA & MBA courses, the test will be conducted on March 20 (10 AM to 12 PM & 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM). For M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan courses the exam will be held on March 21 (10 AM to 12 PM). The TANCET 2021 hall ticket will be released on March 5. The TANCET 2021 result will be released on or before April 16 and the mark sheet of TANCET 2021 will be available on or before April 20.

TANCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
TANCET M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for TANCET M.Tech is decided by Anna University. Candidates applying for the exam must have any of the following degrees,
- (A) Bachelor's degree in the relevant branch with a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved categories) as prescribed or
- B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch or
- B.Pharm. Degree or
- Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.
- (B) Candidates with 10+3 years of Diploma and Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE), (Awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) can apply for M.Tech M.Arch or 10+2 and AMIE degree.
- Candidates who have qualified GATE are also eligible to apply for TANCET and they do not need to write the entrance exam. However, GATE Engineer Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) qualified candidates have to appear for exam.
Candidates Category - ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan:

- Candidates who have a valid GATE 2019, 2020 & 2021 score with qualifying marks for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering /Technology
- Candidates who have a valid GATE 2019, 2020 & 2021 score with qualifying marks for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers should appear for TANCET 2021 also.
TANCET Category - Candidates willing to be considered under the TANCET category should appear for the entrance test.
TANCET M.B.A Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for TANCET MBA 2021, must fulfill the eligibility criteria of TANCET for MBA prescribed by Anna University, the exam conducting body. Those with any Bachelor’s degree and who have scored a minimum of 50% marks and 45% in case of the reserved category can apply for TANCET MBA 2021. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in one of the following categories:
- 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern or
- 10+2+3/4/5 years pattern
- B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm
- 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE
- 10+2 + AMIE
Age Limit
- Candidates should be at least 18 years of age to appear for the entrance test. There is no upper age limit for TANCET MBA
Who is not eligible to apply?
The following candidates are not eligible for TANCET MBA 2021:
Candidates who have obtained their BE/ BTech degree through distance learning.
Candidates with a degree obtained without studying class 10th, 12th or a 3 years degree programme.
Candidates with lateral entry admissions in all courses except BTech/ BE and MCA.
Candidates who are in the final year of professional courses such as AMIE.
TANCET M.C.A. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates appearing for TANCET MCA must check the eligibility criteria in order to fill the application form.
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree as well as Mathematics in class 12th or graduation level with a minimum of 50% and 45% if the candidates belong to the reserved category can apply for the exam.
- Also, candidates who have a 10+3 years diploma, awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and a certificate from Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE).
- Candidates who are applying for TANCET M.C.A lateral entry must have a Bachelor’s degree in B.Sc. (Information Technology/Computer Science) or B.C.A and mathematics at class 12th level or graduate level and must have secured a minimum of 50% in the exam.
TANCET M.Arch Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for TANCET M.Arch is decided by Anna University. Candidates applying for the exam must have any of the following degrees to appear in the exam,
- A) Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science as prescribed by the exam conducting body or
- B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch or
- B.Pharm Degree
- B) Candidates with 10+3 years of Diploma and Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE), (Awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) can apply for M.Arch or

The application form of TANCET was released in online mode on January 19. Candidates could fill the TANCET application form 2021 in online mode till February 16 (extended). Applicants were able to make a correction in the submitted TANCET 2021 application form and check the status of it till February 23.
The application process included the following steps – registration, filling of all the required details, the name of the course applied for, uploading of photograph, and payment of fees.
Before applying, candidates have to check their eligibility criteria to avoid any rejection at a later stage. Candidates are advised to preview the form before submission as after final submission they can not make any changes.
TANCET 2021 Registration: Documents required
Candidates should keep the following documents ready before filling the application form of TANCET 2021.
- Valid email-ID and mobile number
- 12th Class Registration/Roll Number & Year of Passing.
- Diploma Registration/Roll Number & Year of Passing (if applicable)
- A passport photo of good quality in jpg format.
- Image of your signature in jpg format.
- Copy of community certificate in pdf format (for SC/ST/SCA categories)
- Details needed for online payment - Credit/Debit Card and Net Banking.
How to fill TANCET 2021 Application Form:
1st Step: Online registration- Candidates have to complete the initial registration process by using their basic information includes as the name, gender, date of birth, e-mail id, and password.
2nd Step: Fill online application form- In this step, candidates have to log in to the website by using the Email ID and password. They have to provide the details such as entrance test, personal information, address for communication, and academic.
3rd Step: Upload Photograph- Applicants have to upload the scanned photograph (20 kb to 30 kb).
4th Step: Fee payment- The application fee to be paid online only through net banking or debit/credit card.
- For General/OBC- Rs.600
- SC/ST/SCA- Rs.300
NOTE: Candidate who wish to avail fee concession under SC/ST/SCA categories from Tamil Nadu, they must upload their community certificate.
5th Step: Submit online application form- Candidates have to verify the information filled on the TANCET 2021 application form. Finally, submit it and take at least two printouts of the same for future use.
NOTE: In case, a candidate is applying for more than one course he/she has to pay Rs. 600 per course in online mode only.

TANCET 2021 Preparation Tips
All the candidates appearing for TANCET 2021 are advised to prepare well for the state-level entrance exam. To do so, they must go through the exam pattern and syllabus of their selected fields. They must make a timetable and spend equal time on all the subjects. Do not leave anything for the last minute as it will only increase your stress level. While preparing, keep the following points in mind,
- Solve sample papers – Solving sample papers will give you an overall idea about the paper pattern and types of questions asked in the exam.
- Take mock tests – The Mock test will help you to increase the speed and finish the exam on time. Start solving the mock tests at each stage of preparation. Do not leave that for the last minute.
- Revision – Spare the last few months before the exam for revision. Go through all the sections and sub-sections and work on your basics. Do not go for any complicated topics.
- Take breaks and sleep properly – Do not forget to take breaks and sleep for at least 7 to 8 hours. This will help you to understand things better and give your mind time to settle down all the information.

Anna University decides the TANCET M.Tech 2021 exam pattern which is divided into three parts, part – I and Part – II (compulsory) and Part – III (questions from their chosen courses). The exam will be conducted in offline mode for 2 hours and consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark and for wrong answers or multiple shading, 1/3 marks will be deducted.

TANCET M.B.A Exam Pattern
TANCET MBA question pattern is decided by Anna University and the exam is conducted in offline mode for a duration of two hours. As per the TANCET exam pattern for MBA, the total number of questions are 100 and each correct answer carries 1 mark. However, there will be negative marking and 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates must also keep in mind that in case they have marked wrong answers, 1/3 marks will be deducted for that too.

TANCET 2021 Admit Card
The hall ticket of TANCET 2021 will be released in online mode on March 5 and it can be downloaded from the official website of Anna University. To download the TANCET 2021 hall ticket/admit card, candidates have to enter their user ID and password that will be generated during the registration process. Without TANCET admit card 2021, candidates are not allowed to sit in the exam.
Also, they have to carry anyone of the original valid ID card such as an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passport along with the admit card. The hall ticket of TANCET contains details about the candidate’s name, gender, category, date of the birth registration number, the timing of the exam, and address of the exam centre.
Candidates are advised to check all the details on the admit card before taking its printout. In case of any mistakes, candidates can contact the exam authorities. If the TANCET 2021 hall ticket/admit card is lost, then candidates have to pay Rs. 100 to get a duplicate hall ticket. The payment has to be done via demand draft with a written request to:

TANCET 2021 Result
The result of TANCET 2021 will be released on or before April 16 in online mode. The mark sheet will be released separately on or before April 20. Candidates are able to download the result and mark sheet by entering their login credentials and they can check their marks as well as rank secured in TANCET 2021.
All the selected candidates have to show this mark sheet at the time of the TANCET 2021 admission process. In case, the mark sheet is lost, candidates can get a duplicate copy by paying Rs.100 in form of a Demand Draft, with a written request to the Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai - 600 025.

The eligibility criteria for TANCET 2021 is as follows:
1. Candidates should have completed their BTech/BE from a recognised institute or university in the relevant field.
2. Candidates must have secured atleast 50 per cent marks (open category) and 45 per cent marks (reserved category) in the Bachelor's degree exam.
3. Candidates in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply.
4. There is no age restriction in TANCET 2021.

what is the procedure to join MBA corres in MIT university then Tancet score eligible
According to the course section of the official website of Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai, there are no mentions of any MBA courses.
So MIT doesn't offer MBA course. You can check it up by yourself.

Hi, I wrote TANCET exam on 29 Feb 2020.But I missed the counselling.Can I join MBA now using that score?
See without counselling how will you select your preference and all the other factors. So without counselling its not possible. But what you can do is you can go to the college of your preference which have cutoffs less than your marks and then talk with the officials. If there is any possibility they will let you know.
