About TANCET 2019

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted by Anna University for the admission to post-graduation programmes like M.Tech, MBA, MCA and M.Arch in various colleges/institutes of Tamil Nadu. All the interested candidates must check their eligibility before applying online for TANCET 2019. The application form was available from May 8 to May 31 and exam was conducted on June 23. Candidates belonging to other states can also apply for TANCET 2019 but the eligibility criteria for that will be decided by the exam conducting authorities. Also, the eligibility criteria vary for each programme. To get admission through TANCET 2019, candidates have to appear for the TANCET written test conducted in offline mode at various centres across Tamil Nadu. The result for TANCET 2019 has been released on July 5.

TANCET M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

TANCET  M.Tech Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for TANCET M.Tech is decided by Anna University. Candidates applying for TANCET M.Tech 2019 must have any of the following degrees to appear in the exam, 

a) Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science as prescribed or

b) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch or

Also, candidates with 10+3 years of Diploma and Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE), (Awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) can apply for TANCET M.Tech M.Arch or 10+2 and AMIE degree. 

Candidates who have qualified GATE are also eligible to apply for TANCET and they do not need to write the entrance exam. However, GATE Engineer Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) qualified candidates have to appear for TANCET 2019 exams. 

TANCET M.B.A Eligibility Criteria

TANCET MBA Eligibility Criteria 2019 

Candidates who wish to apply for TANCET MBA 2019, must fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by Anna University, the exam conducting body. All the candidates with any Bachelor’s degree and have scored a minimum of 50% marks and 45% in case of the reserved category can apply for TANCET MBA 2019. These are the Bachelor’s degree prescribed by Anna University, 

  • 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern or
  • 10+2+3/4 years pattern
  • B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm 
  • 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE.

TANCET M.C.A. Eligibility Criteria

TANCET MCA Eligibility Criteria 2019

Candidates appearing for TANCET MCA must check the eligibility criteria in order to fill the application form.  

  • Candidates must have Bachelor’s degree as well as Mathematics in class 12th or graduation level with a minimum of 50% and 45% if the candidates belong to the reserved category can apply for TANCET MCA 2019. 
  • Also, candidates who have 10+3 years diploma, awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and a certificate from Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE).
  • Candidates who are applying for TANCET M.C.A lateral entry must have a Bachelor’s degree in B.Sc. (Information Technology/Computer Science) or B.C.A and mathematics at class 12th level or graduate level and must have secured a minimum of 50% in the exam.  

TANCET M.Arch Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for TANCET M.Arch is decided by Anna University. Candidates applying for TANCET M.Arch 2019 must have any of the following degrees to appear in the exam,

b) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch or

c) Candidates with 10+3 years of Diploma and Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE), (Awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) can apply for TANCET M.Arch

TANCET 2019 Application Process

TANCET Application Form 2019

Candidates need to fill the TANCET application form 2019 in online mode. The application process includes the following steps – registration, filling of all the required details, the name of the course applied for, uploading of photograph and payment of fees. The application form was available from May 8 to 31. Before applying, candidates must check their eligibility criteria to avoid any rejection at the later stage. Candidates are advised to preview the form before submission as after final submission they cannot make any changes. 

Step-1: Online registration- Candidates should complete the initial registration process by using their basic information includes as the name, gender, date of birth, e-mail id and password. 

Step-2: Fill online application form- In this step, candidates should provide the details such as entrance test, personal information, address for communication and academic.

Step-3: Upload Photograph- Applicants must upload the scanned photograph (20 kb to 30 kb).

Step-4: Fee payment- The application fee to be paid through online only through net banking or debit/credit card.

  • For General/OBC- Rs.500
  • SC/ST/SCA- Rs.250

Step-5: Submit online application form-  Candidates need to verify the information filled on the TANCET 2019 application form. Finally, submit it and take at least two printouts of the same for future use.

NOTE: In case, a candidate is applying for more than one course he/she has to pay Rs. 500 per programme in online mode only.

Preparation tips for TANCET 

All the candidates appearing for TANCET 2019 are advised to prepare well for the state-level entrance exam. To do so, they must go through the exam pattern and syllabus of their selected fields. They must make a timetable and spend equal time on all the subjects. Do not leave anything for the last minute as it will only increase your stress level. While preparation, keep the following points in mind,

  • Solve sample papers – Solving sample papers will give you an overall idea about the paper pattern and types of questions asked in the exam. 
  • Take mock tests – The Mock test will help you to increase the speed and finish the exam on time. Start solving mock test at each stage of preparation. Do not leave that for last minute. 
  • Revision – Spare the last few months before the exam for revision. Go through all the sections and sub-sections and work on your basics. Do not go for any complicated topics. 
  • Take breaks and sleep properly – Do not forget to take breaks and sleep for at least 7 to 8 hours. This will help you to understand things better and give your mind time to settle down all the information.

TANCET MBA Exam Pattern 2019 

TANCET MBA exam pattern 2019 is decided by Anna University and the exam is conducted in offline mode for 2 hours. The total number of question is 100 and each correct answer will be given 1 mark. However, there will be negative marking and 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates must also keep in mind that in case they have shaded multiple boxes, 1/3 marks will be deducted for that too.

TANCET MCA Exam Pattern 2019 

The exam pattern of TANCET MCA 2019 is prescribed by Anna University and the exam is conducted in offline mode. Candidates are advised to use black ball point pen only. The question paper will consist of 5 sections with a total of 100 questions. Time allotted to finish the exam is 2 hours and there will be negative marking as well 1/3 marks will be deducted for shading multiple boxes.

TANCET 2019 Admit Card

TANCET Admit Card 2019

The hall ticket/admit card of TANCET 2019 is released in online mode and it can be downloaded from the official website of Anna University. To download the admit card/hall ticket, candidates have to enter their user ID and password that was generated during the registration process. Without TANCET admit card 2019, candidates will not be allowed to sit in the exam. Also, they need to carry one valid ID card such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passport along with the admit card of TANCET. The hall ticket of TANCET 2019 will contain details about candidate’s name, gender, category, date of birth registration number, the timing of the exam and address of the exam centre. Candidates are advised to check all the details on the admit card before taking its printout. In case of any mistakes, candidates can contact the authorities. If the hall ticket/admit card is lost then candidates have to pay Rs. 100 to get a duplicate hall ticket. The payment has to be done via demand draft with a written request to:

TANCET 2019 Result

TANCET Result 2019

The result of TANCET 2019 has been released on July 5 in online mode. Marksheet has also been released along with the declaration of result. Candidates can download the result and marksheet by entering their login credentials and they can check their marks as well as rank secured in TANCET 2019. All the selected candidates have to show this marksheet at the time of admission. In case, the marksheet is lost, candidates can get a duplicate copy by paying Rs.100 in form of a Demand Draft, with a written request to the Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai - 600025.
